You think Toronto would want to be reunited with Lowry? A farewell tour type of trade to allow Lowry to close out his career in Toronto?

Dennis + OG for Lowry and picks?

Doubt the Raps would trade OG for Lowry and picks. I think they value him a lot more than that. But anything is possible I suppose given OG is up for a contract renewal.

The expiring contract + the farewell tour are my two reasons why I think something like this would have legs. Just not sure how much draft capital we should give since I am not sure what long term value OG would provide to our franchise. Throw in Dennis who has two years guaranteed on contract and it may be worth a swing to dig some FRPs into this.

That would definitely take us out of Donovan Mitchell hopium… but perhaps it is what we need to do for a change. Get really good players and develop our players into stars.

My guess is the Raps will just wait it out with Lowry until he's traded and bought out. Whomever trades for him will be trading for the draft picks attached to him and the expiring to be bought out. Think of a Utah or another team with cap space. I could see something similar with Utah who brokered the Westbrook deal. Ainge is a pain in the ass but he's not turning down the draft capital for taking on the contract and dishing out players he doesn't need.

OG is a good player but TBH got really overrated lately.

He's a 3rd/4th option on a great team. He's an high level role player, and what we need to do is to invest all our resource into a first option type player, preferably a guard.

As a stopgap, Dennis Schroeder wouldv'e been a good low salary get. But that's done.

BTW, Sexton can fill a similar role. Might be avaiable for Lowry pr Duncan + a pick.

But wasting ANY picks on non-stars might be unwise if we're thinking big picture. That wasted pick might be the diffrence between getting a Donovan Mitchell and not getting him.

Devontae Graham and Dougie McDermott for Lowry and pick is also another option.

The biggest missed opportunity wasn't Beal, it was Kevin Durant to the Suns. We should have made that deal happen somehow. KD on the Heat solves -everything-.

Honestly, one thing I've noticed about Riley, is that he's become too conservative in trades. Doesn't want to give up too much for franchise changing players like he used to.

The old Riley would send half the roster for a Shaq, or a KD.... and then fill in the roleplayers later.

This current Riley overvalues the roleplayers and assets, and as a result nothing gets done.

I think Riley is just too chill and happy with his career accomplishments. Sure he wants to win another before retiring, but he doesn't seem to be in a rush about it. Old Riley would give his heart and lungs to acquire a KD, or a Lillard, or whatever.

Maybe, its because of the old Riley that the New Riley had to emerge, going all in put Miami in a vice grip in the future to expand and get Superstars. If not for Wade, the Big three doesn't happen(outside of cap space they didn't have anything over other teams), or the big 3 could of ended happening elsewhere. If not for Jimmy making it real hard on Philly(We didn't have the assets to get him Mini) and saying Miami or nothing plus Wade pushing here. Imagine Philly that year resign Jimmy instead of the other guy, and sending Ben to another team. When you really drill down into the weed of things, It could of been Shaq the last big signing they had if not for Wade's influence and some luck.

I kind of went of track, but where I was heading was that they saw how hard it was to revamp after sending out multiple assets for many years being handcuffed. I think they realized that their development program is really good, same thing with scouting and drafting talent. Why not expand and focus on keeping picks to grow from within instead. Yeah its a change in philosophy, but what if thats the Spo movement when he is ready to take the rains and become the GM, pushing youth and developments. The great thing about having Assetts and young players in your clip, is when a top 5 star comes on the Market you have the ammunition to pull a trigger.

If you have 4 FRP's in your arsenal and a litenamy of young high upside talent, you can afford to send 2 good to great young players and couple of picks to get you a Superstar.

Schroeder can't be traded right now, but when Jan come and he is eligible and Raps are conceding the season this trade makes sense:

Miami: Buddy Hield, Dennis Schroeder
Indiana: OG
Toronto: Kyle plus FRPs from Miami and Indiana

You know I treat you like an ugly step child on these boards and typically don't even acknowledge you so if I'm quoting you directly you know you had to have outdone yourself. Tell me you didn't really look at that post about Bam coming off the bench for USA at the Olympics next year and interpret that as "hate". You have got to be freaking kidding me.

Oh I get it. You read a post of me talking about Bam and assumed it was a "sly" remark towards you. Lmao, I get most narcissists have an inflated sense of self worth, but that's just a basketball post in reference to a player on our team. Nothing to do with you.

and for future reference, a post about Bam ≠ a "sly remark" towards you.

Was your random post really about Bam coming off the bench?
