RJ Hampton
Lost in the news today was Miami's signing of RJ Hampton to a Two-Way Contract.
RJ has been let go by both Orlando and Detroit.
However, I think being in Miami can help him.
He is a good shooter who can defend but needs to play off the ball as they are not a point guard.
Hopefully, things can work out for him in Miami.

Yeah, I've always been an RJ Hampton fan too. Crossing my fingers he can learn to shoot better. I think he is a pretty good playmaker.
I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

Re: RJ Hampton
low risk high reward worth taking a chance on him. He is athletic enough to be special which is why I want Haimado Diallo
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

Definitely has potential to be the next Caleb Martin like project who I hope makes a similar leap in our system. Go RJ, rooting for you all the way!!
That said, did we really have to waive Bouyea? Really liked him, and sad to see him go

We had to waive one of our 2-way players. Jamal Cain is guaranteed, imho. It was Bouyea or Dru Smith. Miami has chosen Dru Smith over other players many times. No surprise here. Bouyea will still likely play for Sioux Falls.
Main roster: (13 players)
Lowry (pg)
Herro, Richardson (sg)
D Robinson (shooter)
Butler, Martin, Jaquez Jr
Love, Jovic, Highsmith
Adebayo, Bryant, O Robinson
2-way: Smith, Cain, and Hampton (another player may win this position in camp)
Justin Champagnie, Drew Peterson, Alondes Williams, Cole Swider, Caleb Daniels (Exhibit 10)
Miami is spending $13,169,391 above the luxury tax line for a total of $24,173,480 in tax.
Miami is $1,830,609 below the second apron and has 2 open roster spaces.
During the regular season teams must carry a minimum of 13 players, which includes 12 active and one inactive player.
2-way players do not count towards the roster numbers.
The Heat is scheduled to hold its annual media day on Oct. 2 before opening training camp on Oct. 3.

We did:Spoiler:
Thanks for the thoughtful response on what was a throwaway comment. I’ve just never seen what the Heat see in Smith. Seems like a JAG to me, which is why it’s surprising how he keeps surviving cut after cut.
On the plus side, Bouyea looks a bit older than he actually is, so maybe we can hide him in Sioux Falls without other teams noticing

Athletic, slasher with quasi point skills. Kinda like Caleb but more pointish. Its a gamble. He was considered the best prospect in his class by some at the time. Its all between the ears though. Hope he surprises us.

My younger cousin in Plano was friends with him in high school and ironically he attended montverde which is a few minutes from my house in central Florida. Haven’t watched a whole lot of him in nba but some of his high school stats are eye catching. Sometimes all these guys need is a great developmental program like the Heat to take off

I just learned that Hampton wanted to play only for the Heat and worked out in the Heat facilities all summer so they had a long look at him.

Re: RJ Hampton
Also being a fan of both Orlando and Detroit, I watched him alot and he always seems like a solid role player, but never to the point of making the cut. Has lots of potential. I would like for the Heat culture to enrapture him and if so, he could be a solid role player replacing Gabe or whomever. He does have that type of potential. Don't consider him a true PG, but can be depending on the lineup.
