Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - Payne Signed
Aspect of Dre and possibly MarJon that we haven't talked about is that either of them being playable would unlock C Giannis defensively by allowing us to drop Giannis situationally and have them backfill Giannis' normal role as the guy who helps from the weakside block to the corner. They can cover that ground. We didn't play anybody who could do it last year.

Don't have a horse in the race but didn't PJ basically disregard Bud's orders or didn't like what he wanted to do? Also, If i had to bet, it was Bud who said he didn't want PJ back.
That's sort of what I'm saying. PJ gave Bud his input, basically telling Bud that "hey let me guard PJ, not this team defense crap, etc." and Bud in turn trusted PJ and listened to him. Jrue basically did the same thing this series against Jimmy. Bud wasn't afraid to get his players input and listen to them. That said there are pros and cons to that approach and sometimes it works(PJ) & sometimes it doesnt(Jrue)
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Nobody covered themselves in glory in that series, but he wasn’t good.
Pretty wild to say this in context of preferring Jrue over him, "easily" in your words, considering how Jrue played in the same series
I don't think it's wise to look at that series in isolation. Jrue was much much better than Khris during the regular season.
But even that misses the point - it's about how their skills can be leveraged with Giannis and Dame. There's an argument that Khris' shooting is more important. I think Jrue is perfectly fine as a catch-and-shoot guy, and his defense is vastly superior.
Add in the health issues with Middleton, and it's an easy decision for me.
There's a video I watched that I'll try to find but it focused on how much teams did not fear Jrue as an off ball spacer and used his man to clog the paint. They can't and won't do that to Khris. And that's before you factor in the low bball IQ possessions.

A worse option is Giannis in the paint or Khris open anywhere.
That’s why they’ll send rotational help to the paint as always and leave Brook and the other non-Midds player open.

If Bud had that mindset then PJ wouldn't have been guarding KD in game 6 or 7 after KD torched the Bucks in that historical game 5. It's very possible Bud sort of learned the wrong lesson from that series and I'm not even saying it was the right decision just that Bud very much trusted his players when they said they could do something.

Be a perfect time for brook to rediscover his 3 pt shot would be cool to have him shoot near 40% this year talk about a unstoppable O

I also just think Khris is not a good basketball player anymore, and even more a poor fit for this team. His field goal % has declined 3 years in a row. His 3pt % has declined 3 years in a row. He doesn't move well without the ball. And perhaps worst of all, his defense is atrocious.
He is an iso player who can make tough shots, and occasionally run a decent pick n roll game when he's not dribbling the ball off his foot or throwing lobs off the shot clock. We don't need that now, because Dame will be taking over those duties. And I think Cam is good enough to be a creator for the 2nd unit.
We'd be *much* better off with a hard-nosed, gritty wing who will be ultra active defensively, relentlessly cut off the ball and attack the glass.
Jrue waived off Giannis and Wes only to continue to get absolutely roasted by Jimmy
. . . . because Jrue was too damn stupid to figure out that you steer Jimmy left. Beyond i. . nexcusable. He deserves the Celtics overmatched coach. I will not miss him as a player.
Thats not why they lost tho and everyone knows it. Superhero iso heroics can't beat team ball, and G missing more free throws than our margin of defeat and the lip service to 'sacrifice' apparently doesn't include sacrificing ISOs or the physical (& team!) costs of trying to play two positions instead of just one and actually using all five players. Larry Bird reels show him constantly passing and as long as we don't have that the bucks are vulnerable. Expecting Jrue to be the band-aid for Gs habitual decisions by Jrue playing O & D superhuman postseason level is . . . unrealistic and not winning ball. If Bucks win again it'll be bc Dame took matters into his own hands & went against the grain on this.

Brook did have his career best 3pt shooting this past season. I don't think he needs to rediscover anything, he just needs to continue his 37.4% mark.

i think the fall off after the first 1.5 games left a sour taste in peoples mouth.
IF and thats a big IF marjon is good enough to win the starting role here. Then Horst probably traded for Dame Lillard and kept our best asset.

It was pretty obvious that no one other than Marjon could create offense on the Summer League team. It was an absolute brick festival. He is going to be asked to do much less schematically during the regular season.

Agree honestly jrue was terrible mo doubt but they lost because giannis shoot 60% from the line in a 2 point loss.Jrue made some bad mistskes but so did the HC as well as all the players including the mvp that cost the heat series.Who was leaving strauss n vincent open

Well we've been talking about Khris like at the beginning of every new season. We discussed his stats, his skills, his injuries and such. These all mean he doesn't give everyone any confidence even though he changes constantly and improves by all means. With this being said, I think deep down we all know where his values lie at. At least this is how I see it about Khris. I would trade him anytime we see a good shot in exchange with the same caliber players or good players.
