Counterpoint, they both push each other to work harder.

Similar to WWE vs WCW. The WWE product was great when they had competition, then fell off as soon as they were all alone at #1.

Or Madden/NBA Live vs 2k sports.

Everyone needs someone to push them.

For years Woj was alone in that space and the only complaints were that he reported draft picks TOO fast.

Real question is: who's pushing Chones? We all know he's in the lab, but who else is in the lab telling him he's not in the lab enough?

There's no real benefit to finding out from them or finding out 6 hours later when it becomes official with the league

Yeah I think we'd all be ok getting news on a trade like an hour later vs 30 seconds after it goes down.

Wish they would focus on actual insider work because the rumors are interesting to fans.

It's the whole race to post news first that's pretty pointless. And it's not even like the info is exclusive, multiple peeps will all report the same deal within like 5 minutes of each other yet we treat it like some Pulitzer worthy action if one is a minute quicker to type the news. The whole thing is silly.

The headline "Jalen Green expected by rival execs to have similar peak as Bradley Beal, Zach LaVine" reads like the most back-handed compliment you can give a young player without it being an actual insult.

Guys... What's the most predictable storyline for this coming season now that Jrue is in boston?

They will have a top 2 record and potentially the top overall defense. And their best defender is a guy who never won the award but many feel like he should have by now.

And somehow... jrue is only +2000 to +3000 depending on where you look.

Have to think Windhorst has already voted Jrue for DPOY this year.

Woj vs Shams is basically me vs the rest of you/us dopes scrambling to type "FIRST" right when PP starts a game thread.

Like sure, it's a race and there must be a winner, but I don't know if you deserve six figures for regularly hitting the tape before everyone else.

Now, do I deserve six figures for advancements in the field of posting? I have thoughts.

Maybe the Rockets agreed to give him a starting spot or big minutes?

Passan is the only one of these scoop artists that I can tolerate.

I appreciate that Woj and Shams (and Schefter, Romano, etc) share a lot of information publicly for free on social media about our favorite sports. But, they all have biased sources of information and oftentimes don't do a good job of vetting that information before sharing it publicly. It's more important for them to be first to a story. Their capacity to influence the public narrative is immense, and they don't wield that responsibility with the care that it deserves.

They've also helped to drive local media out of the scene because they swallow up all of the scoops. No reason for someone to leak a Bucks trade to the MJS when they can just call up Woj and trade that scoop for information.

I could see him using this as an opportunity to get one final long term contract next season.

The Rockets are going to be a weird team this season because they clearly want to try to take a step. They have 6 guys that are top 20 picks in the last 3 drafts and so there's a strong youth movement but they also signed FVV and Brooks to big deals and gave Jeff Green a solid deal as well and have now added Bullock. With Bullock especially, it wouldn't surprise me if its not really working and they're nowhere near playoff contention if they release Bullock so he can sign with a contender.

Local guys have to rely on getting good interviews and doing good analysis. Nehm does a pretty good job of that usually.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I was messing around on NBA2K scrimmage mode and want to ask… is this the best and deepest roster the real life Bucks have ever had?

There were entire seasons where a guy like Bobby Portis might have been our best player! Heck, entire era’s where Khris would have been our leading scorer.

Our team is so loaded right now.

I'll be honest, I completely forgot Bobby Portis was on the team. I've been listening to too many pods that have done the same.

As deep with scoring potential, if MarJon really does take the leap on offense and defense, but probably not as deep as last year or 2019-20. However, it is as top heavy as any roster in my 18 years of following the team, that seems a given.
