2023-24 MVP race!

The poll is based on betting odds, and it's set up so you can change your vote as the players jockey for position throughout the season.

Pretty please follow RGM posting guidelines and do your part to avoid the mess this thread has become in past seasons. Keep it friendly and don't troll or insult each other. Thanks and enjoy!

SGA has a chance, poll shows Tatum leading, not sure about that, especially with all the help they have. Hard to believe media will award him one keeping that in mind. Luka is always a favorite, it could happen. Embiid has a chance, but I don't see him producing better than last year without Harden. Same with Joker obviously, you know the media is itching to award it to him. ANT and Zion could make a play at it, Zion obviously health matters the most.

I like Tatum, Luka and Jokic as favorites

I think Dame is an underrated dark horse pick. He regularly faced 2-3 defenders overloaded towards him last season and still put up MVP numbers 32.2/7.3 on .645 TS%.

He may be even more efficient this year playing alongside Giannis who will draw more defensive attention than any teammate Dame has ever had. Couple that with playing for a contender, it seems like he has a real path for the first time in his life. A fact that’s probably not lost on him.

On the flip side, Giannis and others will cut into his production so the stats will look less gaudy. And it'll be tough to have the narrative on his side because he's playing alongside a better player.

If the media was itching to give Jokic an MVP, he'd have 3 right now, Embiid would have 0, and all would be right with the world.

I don't think doncic can win because mvp usually goes to a winning team...I feel like if an MVP goes to the bucks it will be dame...don't see embiid winning again...SGA has a good chance if the team takes another leap again...don't see Booker or Tatum winning just because they have great supporting casts. Jokic has a chance cuz he's Jokic...

I'd say it's between Jokic, SGA, and Dame...

Jokic is the best player in the league currently.

I get the Dame mention but I doubt it. If it’s anyone on the Bucks it’ll still be Giannis, who I think even with Dame will still hover around the upper 20s in per game scoring, but will be more efficient and closer to DPOY form on the other end given the lower offensive burden.

If I had to put money on it I think Tatum gets his first one. They’ll have the record, he’ll have the stats, and I think it being his first one will help from a narrative standpoint as well.

Something very special would need to happen for Joker not to win it. Media and writers will want to reward him for his insane playoffs.

Ah we’re back again! It’s been awhile. Hopefully it’ll be less toxic this year. I’m not sure who will win it.

Jokic is currently the best player in the league, however due to voter fatigue I think the award will go to Giannis, with Luka on the outside depending on Dallas' record.

I think Jokic, this regular season, will try even more to give Murray, AG and MPJ space to shine, and make all-star teams. I wouldn't be surprised if he is 2nd or 3rd leading scorer on the Nuggets with as low usage as possible to win games.
Of course advanced stats will love him as it was the case from his rookie year until now, because he plays the right way.

Definitively can agree, I can't see MVP trophy be anywhere on Jokić's priority list this season, it is not only 'been there, done that' but probably toxic lobbying from prior seasons left a lot of bad taste in his mouth. His goals probably are focused on ways he can get to multiple championships (which I personally don't think he will be able to accomplish this season).

Jokers probably done winning MVPs. I could see Tatum or Giannis winning it.
