Nurse, Bev, PJ Tucker. The Sixers will be annoying to play for sure. They played some really great defensive minutes against the Celtics starters without Embiid under the rim.

The Celtics looked vulnerable without Holford on defense and the spacing looked bad with Jrue on the floor who looked lost out there which is logical. He took bad shots, missed his usual easy ones etc.

I'll be watching football tonight but I'll have a second screen on the Spurs/Thunder game. I'm anxious to see both of those guys.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It was a good pass but filthy is a bit much and he was lucky not to lose the ball on the btb dribble.

I can't think of a worse outcome for Wemby than for him to think he can get away with all these crossovers and step-back jumpers in the pros. Dude's gonna have his pocket picked every other offensive possession. It's just so unnecessary for him to do that stuff with his physical tools.

I'm getting big Ralph Sampson vibes from him.

Holmgren, despite his frame, is a big who has aspects of a perimeter game, but plays as a big.

Wemby has the potential to be a down low destroyer, but have to wonder if he'll be a drifter or a guy who works 18' and in.

Like, he has to be a Durant sort of guy to warrant playing on the perimeter. "He shoots really well for a 7'5" guy" isn't the flex a lot of people think it is. And yes, I get that he will play outside until his body catches up and he can withstand the action on the block. What if those habits from his first couple years stick and he lives on the <Wright Thompson voice> yellow wood?

Lol, lifting the In n Out cup design and throwing it onto a jersey would be all time levels of bad.

The behind the back dribble was legit terrible, only saved by his massive reach. It looked like something an uncoordinated 40-something at the gym tries before jacking up a shot and screaming KOBE.

Jaylen is still not that good IMO, it is WILD to me that he’s on a $303 mil contract. Still a tunnel visioned dude with massive ballhandling deficiencies. And it still doesn’t seem like he understands that - last possession they had Tatum, Jrue, White on court and Jaylen’s trying to set everything up.

I honestly think Dre could clamp him in a series lol.

Good to see Jrue out there, he still looks mostly like Jrue. Maybe a tad slower but probably just him not trying in preseason.

This is where I'm at as well. It blows my mind how overrated he is, I don't see him as a viable number two.

Wemby makes Giannis look like a normal human being. In these bad quality highlights from the Spurs screamage it seems like he is photoshopped/stretched out. Completely fake.

I think he will struggle a lot this season because he is a much worse shooter in reality than from what he was perceived so far but he will make some ridiculous highlights in the process.

Wemby’s offense doesn’t matter to me much. He’s Gobert but can actually dribble a basketball. If he’s just a mediocre offensive player for his career he will have mvp level impact anytime he’s on the court.

Agree with all of it. One exception though, Wemby seems to like blocking shots. Sampson never relished that down low defensive work, nor was being a shot swatter emphasized as much back then (no insta-highlights on twitter and ESPN).

You try dribbling a tennis ball and not look ridiculous

But what if Wemby becomes really good at all the fancy faceup game stuff and becomes a demigod? Just happy he isn't in the EC

The only other thing as undefeated in sports as Father Time is the limitations of the human anatomy. At some point functional perimeter skills with limbs that long becomes a hindrance rather than a benefit. He can already dunk on his tiptoes and shoot over anyone without even jumping. Literally no point in him trying to develop these low efficiency highlight reel shots/plays, even if he theoretically can make them.
