Just came on to say exactly this after watching the highlights Tobin posted. I know it's just a scrimmage, but I like what I saw from a shooting/cutting perspective.

Cole Swider projects to have a higher upside than Duncan Robinson. He is way more polished in his movement drills and shooting vs where Duncan was at this same time. He is also 6'-9" so he has the length to shoot without being bodered much. Additionally because of his height he can also play the SF/PF hybrid role, were Duncan at 6'-7" was too slow to play the guard and or too small to ever be a put in a lineup at the PF. Cole Swider also does not carry a long term multiyear overpaid contract.

He is the replacement we needed for Duncan, we already have Struss replacement in Josh Richardson. Right now if we find somebody who can carry the production of gabe ie RJ Hampton or Dru Smith were a much better team than last year.

I also would love to see Spo throw some Herro, Duncan, Swider, Jovic, Bam lineups at the end of a quarter or timeout play to close a game. Bam setting screens, Jovic inbounding and Duncan, Swider, Herro running around setting pin down screens and cross screens, you can literally shoot from any area on the floor. If any of the shooters get flooded, either somebody is open or Bam has a free dunk at the basket.

Don’t think Hampton should be discounted as a shooter, he shot a respectable percentage the past several years. Maybe a different mentality from Caleb, but perhaps similar style and perhaps poised to make the same leap within a few years

I would straight up give Swider a 2 year minimum deal with a team option on the 2nd. I doubt he will accept a 3 year deal.

This.

We know his skillset always flourishes in our system. Get him on the longest cheapest contract so we aren’t losing these players or overpaying for them as often. (Strus slipped away and Duncan was overpaid)

You do realize that Lillard went to Milwaukee right??? unless one of RJ Hampton and Dru Smith go Super Sayin, aka Dame Lillard clone.

I am looking forward to seeing Lowry hustle and lead this young crew. He truly has a good team around him to be an effective PG for us without having to give us too much. If he truly earned a starting role in Spo’s eyes, and was not simply treated as the defecto starter, then he should be a good fit with this iteration of the team that now also includes Untouchable Herro, Bulk Jovic, Air Jaime, 3&D Rich, Finesse Bryant, Lights Out Duncan, MVP Butler, DPOY Bam, Fit Love, etc.

Lol… duh.

Our Damian Lillard = The lot of Herro, Jovic, JJJ, and whatever else we kept because the trade did not go down. I am looking forward to watching our home grown crew thrive! I hope that by the end of the season these three have made us appreciate that the deal did not go down!

Throw a number on the back of the warmups Bam is wearing and let's make that the alternate jersey for the season. It's better than the Heat Culture ones that have been posted.

Sad about Dragoc, but that's potentially a good pickup.

So, I had this idea floated my way today. So I bring the question to you all, would anyone consider Lowry + Duncan for Ben Simmons?

The spacing with Simmons, Butler, and Bam would be dreadful. But besides that the guy doesn't seem to give a flying fuxk about basketball and besides Harden he's the only other guy in the league I wouldn't ever want to see in a Heat jersey.
