If they want MarJon to focus on being a low-volume, catch & shooot, 3-and-D type, then he should be the starter.
If they want him to focus on developing playmaking skills, dribbling, and being a bit more of a focal point on offense, perhaps as an eventual Khris replacement, he should be in the 2nd unit.
I'd say it should be Pat because he's a pretty good jack-of-all trades type who can still bring positive energy and play without the ball in his hands who becomes a little less valuable in a 2nd unit with less overall talent, but he could also be the first one subbed out and then brought back in when the rest of the starters rest.

I went AJJ. I think his defense, energy, and glue is what the position requires. I don't expect him to start. My second choice is Beasley for floor spacing reasons and I think his defense will be passable with the starters.

I already feel pretty confident in saying that we need to give up on the dream of Marjon ever being any sort of off-the-dribble shot-creator. He's strictly a set-his-feet guy and can't square his shoulders up when shooting off-balance to save his life. But that's obviously not what you'll ever need him to be. I'd say he's definitely improved his slashing and looks stronger finishing through contact. But he absolutely needs to improve that catch & shoot efficiency (32% last season) for me to believe he's the long-term answer there.

100%.

Defensive length and versatility.
Athletic attributes.
Transition nightmare.
Corner 3.
Attack close out aggressively.

These are how Marjon carves out a career in the nba. Forget about the rest. It ain’t happening.

Voted Pat. He's the highest paid player in the list.

You guys are lying to yourselves about the young players, they are not close to being ready to START on the best team in the NBA, and Pat will be a closer but he should never be a true 82 game starter.

Its between Jae and Beas

Beas should never be a true 82 game starter either. Tbh the Bucks don't have a guy like that so then the next best option would be to find the best fit among your bench crew & Beasley is seemingly the worst fit. He's likely going to take away shots from Dame, Giannis, & Khris while providing no value on defense.

Pat is currently the best combination of shooting and defense. He's definitely not a stopper, but probably is the most versatile and sound defender of the group.

Potential gets coaches fired, especially for a contender. Right now, Marjon is a wing version of DJ Wilson. He's a good (not great) athlete with some tools who doesn't do anything at a high level. I think he has a chance to stick if he commits to the 3&D role. If not, his handle and soft finishes at the rim will send him to the G league.

Hate on Lebron all you want, but he knows how to win. If Lebron wanted Beasley on the floor in the playoffs, he would have been there. I'm not sure Beasley gives you anything more than AJ Green other than his alpha mentality to go with his C level game.

There's a lot to like about Jackson Jr and I suspect he checks a lot of boxes for Coach Griffin. He's going to play.

Its very cliche to say I don't care who starts, I care who finishes. But that is where I'm at. For the question itself, none of the guys are appreciably better than anyone else and so its who fits with the other 4 best and I'd probably go with Marjon or AJJ to have some athleticism to start and to see how those guys play being the 5th option. To finish games, I'd go with Pat or Crowder depending on the matchup.

His elite and i mean ELITE spacing will be very valuable on defense. And again, you are lying to yourself if you think AJJ or Marjon would have better impact on defense lol

I'm one of the three people who voted for Beasley so far. I think he's the best fit with Dame, Khris, Giannis, and Brook. My second choice would be Pat, followed by Green then Jackson. I want to like Marjon, seems like a cool guy, but I just don't see it whatever "it" is.

Voted MJB as he has all the tools and *should* be able to thrive with the starters. Hit a couple of threes, play some tough defense, go for loose balls and offensive boards, cut to the hoop, etc. We know what we have in Pat. Beasley should be fine as a bench scorer. The Payne addition may quietly be a really good one.

Early last season MJB had some really nice stretches (doing awesome against Garland sticks out). Gotta see if he can develop consistency.

No way I want Beasley leading the 2nd team. He will be an inefficient chucker if he doesn’t have to defer to Giannis, Dame, or Mids. If he thinks he is the man in the lineup, look out. He will probably shoot you out of games.

Anyone think we may start Jae with Beasley or someone else and bring Mids off the bench as our Ginobli? I'm kind of intrigued by this option.

if he doesnt earn it in practice and continues to look horrible in SL, preseason and reg season bench minutes then you completely bench him or even send him down. you dont start him for crissakes

if you start him and he continues to look like ****....then what?

I hadn't even considered Jae as an option to start TBH
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I'm assuming you mean his elite spacing will be very valuable on offense? Which I won't necessarily disagree with. And if he only took shots when he was open that'd be a perfect fit offensively, however his whole career he's been a high volume chucker so unless he's drastically going to change how he plays I think him taking shots away from our big 3 could be detrimental. But more importantly of the 4 main guys being considered he's easily the worst defender of the bunch. Just discounting defense as if it means nothing is a wild take to me

Jae shouldn’t even be defending wings, let alone guards. No way he’s starting
