Looks like their already starting to get there…here’s the reaction below from a Blazers fan on Ayton’s first game with them

It all sounded far too familiar…

Hate to break it to blazers OP but he's going to be disappointed in his belief that Ayton can create his own O. The not boxing out made me chuckle a little too, get used to that. (Although DA is a good rebounder overall)

That Blazer fan must be a hater!!!

I mean that’s what we were according to some people here when we were honest about this play.

Pigeonholed into lobs and putbacks? The people who have faith in DA have clearly not seen enough of him.

yeah when I saw he was 4/10 from the field (3/9 if not counting that one highlight dunk), I had definitely wondered what kind of shots he was taking. figures they are not high quality shots lol.

Man - Guess Jokic sucks too! Identical stats! Game 1 of a preseason! Also, Blazers are a new team.

For all the Ayton haters - He is gone, focus on your suns! If you follow Ayton and criticize his every day move, then you are mentally ill.

For Ayton fans, enjoy his new team, and wish him well

I don’t understand your obsession with Ayton? What exactly do you enjoy about his game besides his high fg % and his occasional rebounding?

No obession! I just saw him as a good 4th option Center and would have been a good fit with this team, defense, rebounding, and had chemistry with Beal.

Nurkic I dont like, and do not think he is good

Best part of the trade was Allen.

I think the Suns got worse with the trade.

Also, I think Ayton had some locker room issues that no fans know about, and this should motivate him. He was fun to watch when he was playing well, and hope the best for him.

no, Jokic didn't have a great game last night either. I actually think Nurkic gave him a bit of trouble inside.

Nurkic was good enough to go to the line 8 times, something I think we have Ayton do maybe 10 times in 5 years.

Isn't the problem that Ayton didn't see himself as a 4th option and D and rebounding guy? That along with his salary were the main drivers in the trade.

I feel like when you view the trade from that perspective it's easier to understand the trade.

12 times in his NBA career, including playoffs. Nurk did it 7 times, last season. I think DA is overall the better player but Nurk definitely does some things better than DA and this is one of them.

yeah that's like, less than 3 times a season. if portland is expecting him to up that significantly, I dunno.

at the same time, jury is still out on Nurk but he has improved a bit offensively since first game.

It's funny you say all this.

Everyone enjoyed watching him when he was playing well. Dude had an amazing 2021 playoff run, one of the best in Suns history. When he was playing well there clearly wasn't an issue. It's when he wasn't playing well, which was the only consistent thing about him, that became the main gripe. And you talking about pointing fingers is ironic considering how often DA fans would point fingers at everyone and everything before pointing at him. Oh it's the coach, oh it's the Point God, oh it's Booker, oh it's the system, oh it's the front office....what else am I missing?

Come back when he has 25/12 at some point in the season or 25/12 last night? Bit confused mate

I think losing Toumani Camara is the bigger loss. I liked him. Should’ve insisted on holding on to him, I doubt Portland would’ve nixed the trade because of it.

Yeah, I’m bummed we had to include him. I think he could have even been useful this year as a small ball five. With the way KBD has looked so far in preseason, it may have been nice to have Camara as a backup option.

It also is really helpful to have players on 4 year rookie contracts when you are a second apron team with few draft picks already in stock.

hahaha yeah a 2nd rounder is a bigger loss than an 18/10 player.

Ayton equally soft in interviews too. Do his fans realise he doesn't like you either?

He unfollows players, doesn't talk to coaches, doesn't want to talk about anything Phoenix, would rather play on a rebuilding team and have their fans and thinks you hate him.

His stated goal was to get a max contract not help his fans win championships, he doesn't care.

Return to Phoenix Suns
