Which shouldn't surprise me I suppose.

6'6 athlete, playmaker who can't shoot. There's something there superficially.

One has a high Bball IQ, the other doesn't have a Bball IQ. One has hands of stone. The other actually has a feel for the ball (touch on his passes is evident). I'd also be pretty stunned if AJJ wasn't a SUBSTANTIALLY better finisher. Pretty major differences.

Jackson also seems a lot stronger.

At this point, I vote for Pat C to start as sg. He is the most versatile; can shoot from distance, score at the rim, defend capably. Also has played with Dame.

Jae is not a sg. Malik could be good but his defense is iffy. Mjb cannot shoot from distance. Ajj cannot shoot.

I'm convinced M. Beasley has a poster in his room that says, "You never make the shots you don't take."

A few takes:

MJB - when he's strictly limited to defending he showed some things. I was happy in brief spurts, in maybe a limited role he could do something, but when he has to do a lot more, it gets pretty ugly. Shooting of course was painful to watch. Even a couple boards he missed and TOs I don't trust his hands, I'd say questionable. Not Thon "Coke bottles stuck in each finger while trying to play bball" bad but it made me question if they are a problem and that could be a limitation.

ROLO - good to see him back, he could fill in for his brother in 5-7 minute stretches, but beyond that it becomes apparent he kinda sucks, so he can be solid in backup minutes but not long stretches.

Patty C - looked good. Hopefully a fresh start for him.

AJJ - He's exciting. He's quick and his teammates need to gel with him because his passes are a little wild not everyone is expecting it. Raw on offense besides dunks. But he's active and trying to make a difference. His full court press was really bothersome at the end of the game.

(overall the 2nd quarter was tough to watch and a lot of the 4th quarter was painful. I did like the pressure D saw a lot more TOs).

M. Beasley - I don't see the D being there. Dude's a chucker and if he is starting and stealing shots from our big 3 that would suck. One thing at least Grayson took open looks. This guy was chucking every **** thing. I'm surprised during TO's he wasn't stealing shots from audience participation contests. Maybe because he was on court with a bunch of guys at that moment where no one could shoot, so he figured it was "KOBE" time. But that **** got ugly and I hope if he's in with the starters he knows his place.

Thanos - He was positive chaos out there. Although he started heading for a chase down block and I held my breath that he wasn't going to hurt someone. He frightens me that he's going to injure someone.

AJ Green - He's got some NBA level talent with his shot. He didn't need any space or time on 1 or 2 of his 3s. That's useful. On D I saw a a blow by or two I think he was guilty of giving up. I still question his ability on D, I need to see more. But he's worth keeping around. Maybe he could be a Bryn Forbes. Could be useful on the second unit.

TyTy - Looking interesting. He looked so young. Not used to seeing such young faces on the Bucks and getting on the court.

Marques Bolden - He's trash. He's Johnny O Bryant Ceiling, probably have a good career in China.

Kenneth Loft Jr - Post game mentioned he does not believe in Intermittent Fasting.

Brook, Crowder, Beasley, Pat, Portis look ready. Robin looks competent. Payne looked okay for his first game. AJJ looked good again. MarJon couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. AJ Green is juicing.

Robin looks god awful. He constantly kills offensive sets. Also, we're lucky Steven Adams was out. The Grizzlies other centers stink.

This game was a big nothing sandwich for me.

Although if it accomplished anything its a bit more fuel on the "Marjon aint it" fire.

Dre pulled the trigger on a 3. He missed, but he pulled. [Swanson Voice]Nice work, son. [/Swanson Voice]

AJJ’s jumper didn’t look as bad as it did in college and he does just about everything else correctly.

I still don’t see “it” with Marjon. At least not right now. He’s a pretty long way off from making a significant, consistent impact, IMO.

I noticed this too, it's still a low release and slow in general but the form looked more traditional on his 1 3pt attempt and his fts.

I've just never seen it with MJB and still don't. He doesn't seem particularly intense or physical on defense and on offense he still hasn't found anything to hang his hat on.

Marjon still pretty inconsistent game-to-game. Not really a death sentence, but considering he's an older 2nd year guy, not exactly inspiring much confidence every time he has one of these duds. On the other hand, we keep seeing him thrust in this "shot-creator" role that he simply doesn't have the skill capacity for, so it's awful hard to judge. Defensively I have no concerns. Him and AJJ were wreaking havoc out there when they started pressuring full court.

I haven't seen even 1 second of the rookie, but I highly doubt that he can play at the same level as one of the best guards to never play in the NBA :D

Seriously, I don't get it what they see there or why he's getting minutes over more intriguing prospects. Play the young dudes that have upside: MOAR AJJ, Livingston, Green, even Omari

So what is the deal with Gortman and Omari Moore? To my knowledge we haven't seen either guy on the floor yet. Hell, even Timme got some run early in Game 1.

If you are referring to my take, i know well Diamantidis, i am even a PAO supporter! I never said AJJ is on the same level, how could he, he is only 21 years old, whereas DD is literally one of the best European pg's of all time.
I said "same vibes", meaning there are some common characteristics. They are both selfless, great defenders, big wingspan, point guards, good passers, hustlers etc. BBIQ too.
I remember Diamantidis when he was young. I got these vibes from AJJ. Of course i can't guess the trajectory of his professional career, maybe he ends up a bust. Maybe he suceeds.

In any case, truth be told, DD never played in the NBA. We don't know if he would be good here, maybe he would be a failure like Spanoulis. AJJ is here though. That's something.

Personally think Diamantidis would have been a good NBA player. He'd have found his place like he did everywhere else he played. Too damn savvy. Played every part of the game. Don't think it's a perfect comparison but on a vibes level I definitely get it.

The processing speed part is probably the cleanest 1:1 comparison, and the way that makes the game easier for teammates.

You made me google this "processing speed" because my English is somewhat limited but it was definitely worth it! If processing speed means "Processing speed describes the fluency with which the brain receives, understands and responds to information", then you nailed it and i am happy that an American knows so well one of my favorite players ever: DD was indeed a brilliant basketball mind, he knew at any given moment what to do on the court.

I remember thinking about this years ago, when I've met people from this board they just haven't been who I thought they'd be, but then I'd also never really constructed a mental image of who I thought they'd be so it was even weirder.

Except for AB, he's an adonis. blame rasho found online photos of him years ago so I already knew how glorious he was.

I’ve been in Milwaukee twice over the last year. So yeah now I know how all the native bucks fans look like ;) only need to go to Australia to give the a steriotipical face to all of you too
