What’s with all the Kornet hate? He’s a solid regular season player.

Every fanbase needs a whipping boy.

It's gotta be Battle Royale going in that Training Camp now, huh?
I just don't think that we keep everybody, going into the Season.
It remains to be seen, though.

Banton, Brissett, Stevens, and Walsh have all shown me things this preseason, but perimeter shooting seems to be the limiting factor for all 4. Luckily the rest of our rotation is stacked with shooters, so we can slot in a few non-shooters without blowing up spacing. Whoever of this group that can show some consistency could separate themselves from the pack. Of the 4, I think I have the highest hopes for Walsh because the others shots seem slightly busted, but he is also the least experienced and most raw in other areas, so it will take time.

Hauser & Svi are the two guys in the poll I would go out of my way to keep. I view Svi as the more well rounded offensive player, Hauser the more well rounded role player; i.e. Hauser is less of a question mark on defense, is familiar with his teammates, does not demand any usage, contributes on the boards. Svi could be a more consistent shooter or even a better shooter; I'm curious to see if he can avoid being a defensive liability, and if he is capable of playing as a lead guard in spots. If so, then it could be a situation where we have an option of moving Pritch for front court help near the deadline.
Walsh I keep for his future upside, and hopefully he can be a spot minute energy/hustle guy immediately. But I think he needs to work a ton on his man-man defense before we'll be able to give him a meaningful role.
I wish we could combine Queta & Gabriel into a single reliable big man, but I like both for situational use. Both are competent rebounders. Queta is, in theory, a competent old school center and he gives us a big body and some defensive ability in the post. Gabriel is low IQ but can potentially fill Timelord's old role in a pinch and at least shows possible upside as a shooter.
Brissett has Jerami Grant upside at best, is a passable energy big at worst, I'd probably give him a shot at a small ball 5 role before resorting to Gabriel.
Kornet has shown the ability to be a quality center on occasion, but he hasn't shown the ability to be consistent, I'd keep him around but wouldn't look to protect his spot.
I think JD makes a solid 3rd string point guard, was my binky last year, not gonna give up on him.
Banton & Stevens are both guys I would not have looked to sign, but I wouldn't cut them for the sake of cutting them. With Banton I worry about his supposed penchant for chucking; maybe I am wrong about him but I feel like he is the type of player (i.e. Carsen Edwards PJ Dozier Marcus Morris etc) that Brad keeps signing against against our interests (granted, I kind of like Dozier and he is actually a decent comp for Banton). I do think he offers great upside relative to his contract. Stevens on the other hand is a competent end of bench / small minute rotation player and he brings the type of intangibles you want from a guy in that role. So he makes a lot of sense for a contending team, even though he's a defensive specialist who isn't particularly great on defense...like, by on-off court metrics he was the worst defender in the Cavs' rotation last year...more to it than that but at best he isn't an elite defender by any means and we have good depth at the forward positions without him.

Svi leading the Votes, followed by Hauser.
