League Pass question

Post#1 » by ReasonablySober » Sat Oct 14, 2023 1:58 am

Anyone here successfully use a VPN solution to watch local Bucks games? A team season pass is $89.99 (doesn't get you national games). A six month Bally's subscription is $120.

I liked my Bally's sub this season when I watched the Brewers and I'll probably end up going with them for the Bucks. But I figured I'd see what the LP experience is like.

Aren't you closer to Minneapolis than Milwaukee? And you're considered to be in the Milwaukee market? Or you're not in the Milwaukee market but want to be?

I've never had LP, don't know how it works.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I'm in both. I wouldn't get Bucks or Wolves games. Ideally I'd use a VPN and watch both, as well as the rest of the league.

It's almost like this is what the NBA is hoping you do. Slashing rates on league pass in 2022, understanding the local NBA media markets are losing, and also understanding that they want complete streaming rights for all games without blackouts as the NBA continues to become a more global draw. I would have to assume that the projected streaming revenue and all ad dollars going straight to the NBA and its owners would be a profitable projection...

Sorry, just watch Billions.

Damn $90 for just a restricted team pass?
I paid €80($84) for the full NBA season without black screens this year. I think the last two seasons it was even cheaper than that(60-70 euros).
The international subscription is a steal for us.

A team season pass is a huge rip off. Regular league pass is only $10 more. I don't know why anyone would ever go for the team pass, but apparently people do.

You can use a VPN to get around the blackout rules. I personally use Nord VPN. I found a deal that gave me 27 months (2 years plus 3 free months) for $92 which is nothing really. I signed up on a whim to try to help with some networking issues I was having with Path of Exile and it worked. They offer a 30-day money back guarantee so you could always try it yourself. I honestly expected to refund it.

NBA League Pass is currently offering a 7-day free trial if you sign up, so you could sign up for a VPN and sign up for league pass and just refund both if you aren't happy.

Hell if Suns and Jazz games are streaming for free this year I’ll probably just watch them and the national games of course. I think I got league pass for like $49 on black friday but I never tried messing with a VPN

Some VPNs work, some don't. Nord is one of the better ones

Im not watching games on my computer or **** around with hdmi cords & a laptop so no point screwing around with a VPN, the blackout rules for league pass are unacceptable and dumb as ****. I haven't decided how I'm going to watch games this year, its so infuriating its harder and more expensive to watch games now than it was like 20 years ago.

VPN solution is very good. I used Air VPN when I did it a few years ago. But I'm not sure if they are still the best solution. You will want one that allows you to pick servers because you'll be fine all season and then one game in like Memphis or some **** you'll realize thats where your VPN is hosted and you can't watch it.

I used LP and vpn last year. Worked fine but I had to run from laptop and run hdmi cable to TV. Might be easier way to do it.

Is there a way to re-watch games that have already aired. Everybody tells.me YouTube, but I don't want the chopped full game. I want the complete full game.

I think I'll end up just doing Ballysports Plus. A VPN, depending on where you go, is around $50 for a year, and LP is about $100.

Meanwhile the whole season of Ballys is $120 plus a couple months of baseball.

An app that hides your ip and makes it look like it's somewhere else. In the case of leaguepass you can make it think your from Paris, for example, and get by national or local blackouts. Also has a ton of other uses of course

Yup. I did it for the Brewers all season. It's honestly pretty nice.

My version of league pass requires me to turn on my location so even if I had a VPN it would know my location.

I'm usually in hk so it doesn't matter, but sometimes when I'm traveling, certain countries I can't watch games, which pisses me off, because I do pay for the subscription, I'm just traveling.

There are ways around that but it's extra work. At least with surf shark I was able to.
