I really hope the beat writers ask Griffin some though questions about Robin's playing time. Tonight was ridiculous. Does Griffin even know Bobby has been our backup center for years?

One interesting thing so far is through 3 preseason games, Griffin has basically played Jae Crowder exclusively at the 3 & Bobby Portis exclusively at the 4. Is Rolo actually going to play in the regular rotation? And if so is MarJon or Pat getting cut from the 10 man rotation?

There is no way RoLo should ever see a minute of real action for us.

He's giving Robin an opportunity, because it's preseason.

I missed the game but seeing some posts that said Marjon played well is encouraging. I'll have to watch it tomorrow.

How about give Bobby an opportunity to play center, since he hasn't had one yet? Does Griffin think RoLo just needs a little more experience, like the last 10 years weren't enough?

I hope you're right but you'd think though if this was true he'd also give some minutes to Bobby at the 5 and not just play him at the 4 and only play Jae at the 3.

Our situational offense is just in much better hands with Dame and Payne. Sucks to lose Jrue's perimeter defense but the tradeoff is just so worth it

That would certainly make sense. I dunno, I think preseason is kind of a crap shoot in terms of figuring out why some players are getting playing time over others. There could be so many reasons a coach puts a squad in together for.

Very odd and slightly concerning. Hopefully it's just weird preseason ****.

I found it weird that there was a bit on an anti-Payne vibe here when we got him. Wasn't strong, but it was there. He did a great job of running the second unit against us in the Finals, he just seems like a really effective player to me.

Huh? Pat hit 3-3s while Beasley shot 30% again

Beasley and Dame shot the same from the field. Beasley tied for the team lead at +10.

Our versatility offensively is so much better compared to the previous seasons! In fact we have so many great and different options that we looked like we couldn't make a choice out of the great open looks tonight and it ended up screwing the play in the end.

I have never seen Giannis being so open in transition or after only 1-2 passes in the half court. He looked surpriced of how easy it was to drive in the paint with only 1 guy there waiting, the defense collapsed with panic on him late and he had like 3 wide open teammates to choose from for a pass. Only Dame wasn't open.

Defense looked suspect most of the time and on a few plays we had Giannis and Brook to bail us out with their insane rim protection but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Our rebounding was great.
GHOSTofSIKMA wrote: I think that we will do worse than last season and that Giannis is now just a mere all star. All because we switched from Bud to Griffin.
