This team should win a ton of games, whether we're load-managing or not. If we don't then, it's on the coaching staff.

I’d be shocked if Robin even sniffs the regular season rotation. Bobby will get all those minutes. Agreed that Robin is trash, but frankly I’m shocked that anyone sees Robin as anything more than Thanasis’s bench buddy.

Huh? Pat hit 3-3s while Beasley shot 30% again

Beasley and Dame shot the same from the field. Beasley tied for the team lead at +10.

Hmm, I wonder who projects to be better going forward? The guy who had a 65TS% last year, or the guy who had a 52TS%. I wonder if Dame could get more shots if Beas got less?

Pat and Marjon continue to clearly outplay Beasley.

We're down to 2 preseason games, while installing a completely new system, and Bobby has yet to play a second of center. I'm shocked anyone sees Robin as anything more than Thanasis's bench buddy, but unfortunately, Griffin does.

Compare Robin with other playoff team backup centers and you will realize we will be just fine in the regular season.

Jaxon Hayes was in a different stratosphere as Robin tonight.

The other team that has a better reserve center than Robin is the Bucks. Why volunteer to play an inferior player?

Also, when the Lakers blitzed a Dame pick and roll, Dame found Giannis, who was cut off by Beasley's defender. Giannis passed to a wide open Crowder, which is good, but a quick example of the lack of spacing Beasley produces.

i'm just now watching the game and the broadcaster said something like "Marjon Beauchamp is going to be a star in the NBA."

then they started talking about him coming into the league broken. i've really never heard that angle before. this is all very strange.

Yes he said it again later: he will be a star. I was happy but surprised.

i dont really watch espn basketball broadcasts very much, so maybe that's just something they throw around for anyone with promise. but i dont really understand how you can look at Marjon right now and say he WILL be a star. he could be, but that feels like a less than 25% proposition.

Just conjecture on my part, but I think the broadcast focus on Beauchamp could have come from someone inside the Bucks organization. I don't think Burke and Schiffen could have an elevated opinion of Beauchamp on their own. Heck, he played sparingly in the 2nd half of last season. More likely they are parroting something that a coach told them in the prep meeting for this preseason game and they ran with it knowing that starters would be limited minutes and that they would have an ample opportunity to highlight a young bench player with a future.

I had the Lakers broadcast and the funny part, late in the 4th one of the guys accidentally called thanasis, Thanos!

Our forced nickname comes to life!

First quarter was very disjointed. Rusty. Beasley with the first until and needing to get his own pissed me off. I haven't felt that annoyed since we had DJ Augustine.

I'm wondering if we can trade him for something decent like we did with those DJs.

Maybe beas is OK with the 2nd unit, but early glimpse with starters I didn't like.

Dame looked more like himself when giannis was out. Dame was in complete pass mode with giannis to start. I feel like he only took 1-2 shots when sharing the court with giannis.

I'd love to see how it looks with khris and Giannis.

Payne looks solid in the second unit feeling so at ease with him controlling things.

Mjb looked good. I discount later in the 4th when it was pure empty bench, and like what I saw from him earlier in the game.

AJJ getting only garbage time.

AJ green getting no time. :(

Rolo is a fine 3rd center. Can give a few short 4-6 minutes here or there. He's washed but as a 3rd center it should OK.

Rolo still in this league tells me the league is lacking in good centers.

Just want to mention that Beasley did have some good defensive plays, could have been in the 2nd or 3rd where Griff stepped onto the court and gave him 5.

It is telling that he is learning this role on the fly, putting in the effort but doesn't really know what he's doing. It just doesn't seem natural to him. Dre on the other hand steps onto the court and the other side is completely stifled by his intensity.

Nah, there's dozens of guys without a contract better than him, he's only in the league because of his brother. If he was Robin Smith, he'd be a G League backup. Derrick Favors is playing in the G League this year.

Sure, but this announcing duo also repeatedly asked if this was the first team with 2 sets of brothers? The same sets played for us before just a few years ago.

Also, they completely botched the timeline of Marjons backstory. He didn't come to the NBA broken, he didn't want to quit at JuCo, that's where he rediscovered his love for the game.

It looked to me like Pat and Rolo were running the second team to help teach Stotts offense etc

People keep posting the clip on Twitter of the look Crowder got out of the Giannis short roll, but nobody's pointing out how it gave the Lakers the brain scramblies and allowed Brook to walk into the offensive rebound.
