The Giannis and Dame post game pressers are amazing. Giannis is literally wide eyed with excitement over playing with Dame.. like his brain is on fire thinking about all the different ways they can attack. Dame is so well spoken and insightful. I feel like every game and every interview opportunity for these two is going to be great this year. We are in the zone.

Obviously Beasley is the weak link in the starting 5 when Khris returns
He started bad, but he gave effort in defense and he had 3 very good passes (two ended up as assists) in a span of a few minutes.

The thing about the SG position is that most of the players being talked about here as SG options don't play SG very much. Connaughton and Beauchamp played most of their minutes last season as forwards. Only 26% and 30% respectively at SG, according to BB-Reference.
I mean, sure, but Middleton missed 2/3 of the season, so that was sort of a necessity, given Grayson played all his minutes at the 2.
Connaughton has played most of his minutes at forward in each of the last 3 seasons, and I don't see that changing. Connaughton has always been a role player off the bench. 410 of his career starts have been off the bench, and he has only averaged more than 24 mpg once in his career.
Beauchamp obviously only has a one year history, so maybe he can play SG. I still think it is worth noting that he played twice as many minutes at forward as he did at guard and did not show that he could guard SGs.
I just think projecting either of them into a starting role is dubious. I think Connaughton is what he is. A very good bench SF who can finish games in some situations. I hope Beauchamp develops into a productive rotation player, but that jury is still out.
Sure, no arguments on either, but isn't it even more dubious to project Beasley into a starting role? He been bad for a few years now.

Dame clearly came in with a mindset of deferring to his teammates. I see this very clearly as him bending the knee to Giannis.
Not a whole lot to glean. Even with Giannis and Dame, feels a little thin out there without Khris. Beasley just isn't my cup of tea. He needs to be more like Grayson and Forbes were and just pass the ball if the shot isn't there. He tends to hold it and do nothing a bit too much. Brook still very good. Marjon started well and then seemed to completely lose confidence after some bad plays. Dre again showing he has good touch driving to the hoop. Payne up and down. only 10 days from the opener now. can't some soon enough.
That was probably my biggest take away from this game also. I know Dame will become more comfortable down the line, which will lead to big games from him and Giannis and cover up stuff but I feel like this thing doesn’t work well without Khris being out there. He doesn’t have to be the best version of himself but he has to be healthy.

Has anybody gone to the scrimmage in recent years? If they have even had it recently. Curious what it all entails. I know years back it was a little more interactive with the players, but the team’s popularity increased I think alot of that went away.

If I get a nickel for every time Malik Beasley comes up on this forum this season...hmm. Okay, I would like to actually get these nickels.

Any chance OKC moves on from Aaron Wiggins?

Everyone wanted Grayson to be more like Beasley. Now everyone wants Beasley to be more like Grayson.

Beasley would make a lot more sense starting at the 2 next to Jrue than he does next to Dame
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

I’m fine with what they are, I just want them to be bench players lol.
It’s weird that it’s now two coaches in a row that are weirdly set on starting two different mediocre 2 guards. With Griff it might even be more bizarre because MarJon has taken a mini-leap and is the exact type of young guy you’ve drafted/developed that you try to give that opportunity to, like Brogdon/Donte in year 2/3.

Lot of Thunder fans saying the guys most likely cut are Mann, JRE, and Dipo. Guessing that means they probably view Wiggins and Isaiah Joe as keepers.

If we're looking for a Grayson replacement AJ Green can do it. Thing is that's not what we need next to Dame, we need 3&D.

I totally understand why they'd keep Wiggins, but he'd fit really well here. Their other guys could get 2 ways deals here.
