The Hornets are actually heavily underrated here. The announcer alone makes it engaging and LaMelo is absolutely one of the best entertainment value players in the league. I actually think if Bridges comes back (hopefully not) they’ll be good too, 40+ wins.

The team Lowe is actually sleeping on is the Thunder. Chet gives you 90% of the Wemby alien stuff, and the team around him is actually good. I wouldn’t be surprised if they finish top 4 in the West.

Most definitely the Thunder, they might shock a lot of people this year. They’re brazen and coming for your lunch, love it .

Just did my own personal list. I dont' consider things like Court or jerseys, I purely just care about the product on the floor. And I'm much more interested in teams with good young players than teams that are better but that I've seen hundreds of times by now. So this is just how interesting I think the teams are.

1 Bucks
2 Celtics
3 Suns
4 Warriors
5 Thunder
6 Nuggets
7 Lakers
8 Cavs
9 Mavericks
10 Spurs
11 Magic
12 Pelicans
13 Grizzlies
14 Hawks
15 TWolves
16 Kings
17 Heat
18 Blazers
19 Sixers
20 Pacers
21 Clippers
22 Raptors
23 Knicks
24 Rockets
25 Nets
26 Hornets
27 Jazz
28 Pistons
29 Bulls
30 Wizards

The Spurs are 14th....

Behind Indiana and Cleveland with 10 teams left....you'd really rather watch donovan mitchell or halliburton than VICTOR WEMBANYAMA?

I have the Spurs at 10, which is higher than Lowe has them, but still lower than the Cavs, lol.

We probably all think that about our teams. Myself included lol. Personally I thought he had you guys way too high.

Lowe lays out his little formula well enough to try to make things slightly less subjective for an extremely subjective subject matter.

Obviously all of us are excited to tune into Spurs games to see the NBA's anointed one in action (and I also think the Spurs are constructed to be a fun watch on offense and defense), but that doesn't mean the Spurs are automatically amongst the NBA's most entertaining teams to watch. There are other teams that are exciting for a wider variety of reasons.

You're a Spurs fan. Of course you're excited to watch the Spurs. We are all too! Just not quite as much as you are.

Did you see the amount of people who pulled up to summer league to watch Victor? Or how many people are talking about his first two preseason games? Or how he was talked about nonstop last year leading up to this? That kid is must watch TV by himself. I don't think it's homerish to even say that. I don't think we should be #1 but I definitely think Victor alone is enough to put them in the top 10.

I will say though that this doesn't really bother me. Spurs have always been an overlooked team so this is nothing new or unexpected

He's kinda like Andre the giant or a bearded lady. He's a freak show, so yeah people want ot see him ONCE. After that...honestly so far his game doesn't look that interesting. He is just a freaky looking dude. I'm not saying he won't be great or that he might not take the spurs to more titles. I just don't see much exciting about his game so far. He's just LONGER than anyone ever...and that's weird to look at.

Haliburton is a really fun player to watch and Indiana are a young and upcoming team. The Cavs won 51 games last season and people might want to see what their next step is, as well as see if Mobley goes to a new level as a player, so it's not just Mitchell one would be watching.

Pacers should be fun to watch simply out of the style they play, they should be doing a very fast-paced offense

From a pure excitement perspective most fans generally like smaller players who are extremely vertically explosive and have a lot of power. Think MJ, Kobe, but even guys like AI and Curry fall into the "smaller is just better" camp with most fans. Meanwhile the geek in me that loves me some Jokic...Wemby isn't landing passes I didn't think were even there to make either. He isn't some elite shooter.

He's FREAKY long and he's weird too look at.

I see a future superstar here. Possibly an all time great. I don't see me tuning into a lot of games to see Wemby. I also 100% will watch his first real game and wouldn't miss his first playoff game either. But...I just don't see anything that's going to keep me coming back like Jokic or Curry have done the last half decade.

As a non spurs fan, the spurs are #1 for me. I've seen everyone else and usually like to watch developing teams on LP more than ones I've seen play 100 times. So teams like the spurs, thunder, rockets and magic are up there for me, especially the spurs as wemby is a never before seen type of prospect. Watching him develop game to game is the most intriguing thing I can take time to watch.

Yeah but there have been a lot of tall/long guys that no one cared to tune in to watch...Bol, Bradley, Boban, Fall, etc. Wemby's draw isn't just that he is really tall. It's that he does things that guys his size just do not do. I suppose it's up to personal opinion in the end. But I just don't know how someone could have watched this kid play and think "yeah, not that interesting." To each their own though I guess

The thing about Wemby is that he's doing things big guys should not do because... well, it just looks like his legs are at angles they shouldn't be at, and possibly can't be at for 82 games a year.

Like a steal he made in the preseason where one leg was at the 3-point line and the other was almost at the free throw line... other players don't make plays like that both because they're not that tall but also anyone remotely close to that tall is risking injury making a play like that. On one of his dribble-drives I could swear he could've torn an ACL at three different steps on the drive. I'll be amazed if he manages to continually deliver highlight-reel plays while staying healthy consistently. In a way, he's like Zion-- physically unlike anyone else, but so much so that it's unreasonable to sustainably play like that.

I'd rather watch some of these lower ranked teams with young, exciting players than these other solid teams that are kind of boring.

Well yes, he does things other lanky dudes haven't done. And I mean...he has SOME similarities with some of those guys (not boban), but he and his mini me Chet are a whole other bread. But I've honestly never been someone who got excited about guys based on their sheer size. I hated Shaq's game. I've only started to enjoy Lebron as he's aged and no long is as freak athletic. Even MJ...sure 88 MJ would kill 97 MJ, but 97 was more fun for me to watch. I like the technical skill guys. CP3 is someone I can't get enough of, even if he's an ass. so yeah Wemby isn't for me, personally. I ALSO think his size is a negative in terms of the general population, as big big big dudes don't seem to be as popular.

But 100%, to each their own. I get that some people are going to be super high on this kid. But I think it's wild to assume everyone will be. I'm also just not sure he's going to be nearly as popular as a few of you seem to think. He doesn't have that Nike/ESPN body type that they love to push. I'm kinda surprised Giannis even.

honestly, it feels like you can tell in this thread who has watched him play and who has only seen the highlights.

the coolest thing about the experience so far is seeing it in real time.

No shots to any other player or team, but no one has seen the stuff this guy is doing.

All his highlights have come in a total of about 45 minutes so far.
These are the opinions of one lifelong Spurs fan, nothing more

I'm extremely excited to watch Wemby, and the Spurs this year.
Watching opponents try (or fail) to adjust to Wemby's unprecedented combination of length and mobility is practically guaranteed to generate eye popping plays and things we've never seen before. We'll see players trying to counter that obstacle by trying things they've never had to try before. It's going to be fascintating. Even in preseason I've seen a couple blocks and steals that I've never seen before. The same way a pass can surprise because you couldn't see it coming, Wemby is going to have stops where you didn't even think he could be in the play.

People are underestimating how sick of Wemby they’ll be once espn is done with him. I watched Bruins - Blackhawks last week, and they had a dedicated camera just following Bedard. Once the season is rolling, it’s going to be suffocating
