They botched those lotto picks in a really special fashion.

My guess is that they’re planning on making a go of it next season and try to separate the wheat from the chaff in 2023/24.

I can live with it if that’s the idea, but I have no idea if it is.

Not sure who was ‘making the picks’ in the past but I wonder if Matt LLoyd’s exit is what fueled the Paolo pick since it was not on-brand for us. Him leaving right before the draft last year just felt weird to me.

It’s preseason so whatever… but I hold Paolo responsible for not matching Zion’s level of intensity. If he truly wants to be a star, he needs to act like it. But again, it’s just a preseason game.
