Yep I’m just waiting on the moment OKC decides to go all in. They can easily add 2 all stars to SGA and still have assets left over.

OKC successfully did what Philly wanted to do during “the process” era. They have quietly built the biggest war chest of assets while also accumulating some real good players that fit really well with one another.

Could you imagine that squad and bag of assets in Miami with Spo as the coach? We would be sitting really pretty moving forward!

Not this year, probably not next summer either. They're too young to go for it, they need experience and the FO needs to find out what they really have which you won't really know until J.Williams and Chet get to their 2nd and 3rd seasons, then they can start figuring out what they need. The target for OKC right now is to make the playoffs and start gaining experience.

With all that said, the Thunder are in a very unique situation where they have a roster full of players they like and need to develop while still have a bunch of future picks that they may not have roster spots for unless they move the lower players they still like. What would be very interesting to see if they can keep moving and possibly adding to their assets down the road and of course some consolation trades here and there to upgrade talent and create roster space. Say they have the 18th pick but the only guys on the board that won't crack their rotation so they trade that pick for another one 4-5 years down the road that could end up being better. I'm highly interested in seeing what OKC can do to try to retain draft assets for a long, long time while having a very good up and coming team.

Yes, Philly showed the power of stupidity (acquiring a top 6, 4 then 3 centers in 3 consecutive drafts) along with some pretty big misses at the top of the draft can make a half decade of watching terrible basketball worthless. I can't blame them on the B.Simmons pick, everyone had him #1 thinking he could be the next LeBron except that drive to be the best and of course wanting to score.

Mitchell?! Lmfaoooo what's with these media heads? They JUST saw what Dame went for and think we have the assets for MITCHELL?! That convo is going to start with Bam yet again. Cleveland is not doing any of us favors. Unless here explodes in value between now and the trade deadline, ain't **** happening.

There be way more ask for a younger Mitchel for sure, especially that now your not dealing with a crazy Danny Ainge whos gonna ask for the sky. A lot more teams would be involved, however most top tier contenders are kind of tapped on making moves, and their war chest is empty. Your left with middle tier contenders like Toronto, Brooklyn, New York you would probably get some young teams to jump on this as well with really large war chest of picks.

Begs the question of how many borderline All-NBA PG's that are available that we could plausibly afford at the moment? :reporter:

Philly would have been in a great spot as well if 3 out of their 4 top 3 draft picks weren't busts.

Jahlil Okafor, Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz.

2 of those guys literally forgot how to play basketball. Sucks to be a Sixer fan

Mitchell?

With the way Herro is going to play this season, you will all be laughing at the thought of trading away Tyler + picks for Donovan by the trade deadline.

D'Aaron Fox is the next 'whale' we'll acquire. It'll be through free agency.

Fox
Herro
JJJ
Bam

That's going to be our core post Jimmy Buckets era.

Give Tatum and Brown Jimmy and Bam's supporting cast with Mazulla and they probably have zero ECF appearances during that time frame

Okay I'm just being a hater. Tatum + Brown with a mediocre cast and coach would still wreak havoc.
