With the addition of Isiah Pecheco and Jerick McKinnon, its safe to say CEH is now expendable from a starting role.

Not necessarily because they can find good rookies who can play right away.

It's because every team is forced to play rookies or young players right away and either let them walk or just keep the franchise types of players.

That's the secret in the salary cap and parity era, everyone has to try to get production from players on their rookie contracts. Then extend a few of them but replace the rest.

So a handful of players get 9-figure contracts and the rest of the roster is filled with rookie contract players.

The Chiefs found a generational QB and keep around a couple of other all pro types and they will still be ahead of most teams who also play the same or more number of players on rookie deals.

Chiefs found gems on defense last year. They had 4 rookies playing defense in the Super Bowl last year. They also drafted a rookie Wr named Skyy Moore last year. Look for him to shine this year. Chiefs also moved up in the third round to take this kid, Rashee Rice. So far in training camp he's tearing it up. Two of my sleeper picks in fantasy this year as well.

Not sure what his future is going to be. The chiefs also drafted a kid named Deneric Prince who has looked pretty damn good so far in preseason and the Chiefs appear really high on him.

For a team and organization that doesn't get much bad news, Chris Jones is quoted as saying he is willing to sit out till week 8. This could be a problem on the defensive side of things for the Chiefs moving forward.

Missing last night's game cost Chris Jones $1.2 million. In addition he bought himself a suite to watch the game.

So who's going to blink first, Chiefs or Jones?

If Chiefs lose a coupe more times, that may favor Jones getting close to his demands met.

If they can turn it around and win, because Chiefs defense generate enough pressure with gimmicky blitzes, then Jones is going to feel the million per year lost.

He probably thinks he should get the same or better than what Bosa just got. Why not, he's been a key part of two SB rings.

Thing is I think the chiefs defense was actually fine, it’s the receiving game that struggled. They clearly missed Travis kelce last night

Toney dropping two balls right in his hands didn't help.

Chiefs and Chris Jones have reached a new 1-year, incentive-laden deal.

Presumably, he doesn't owe any of the fines he accumulated.

So just avoiding training camp or Jones decided he's not going to pass up $20 million even if the Chiefs don't extend him after this season?

With Chris Jones back and the 4 rookies that started in the secondary in the Super Bowl, looks like the Chiefs defense is the strength of the team so far. Go figure. For the first 4 years of Mahomes' tenure, the defense was the liability. Now he has the best defense he has ever had. Once they get the new WR's and offense jelling, they should be more scary than last season. The WR's this year are much better than last year's group as long as they don't continue to drop balls. I'm positive Andy and Showtime will get it all figured out in fine fashion. Most of the posters in here last year thought was the beginning of the end for the Chiefs. I even remember a few stating Chiefs won't even win their division or make the playoffs.

Just so there are no misunderstandings with a small handful of posters in here, I'm once again taking the Kansas City Chiefs this year to win the Super Bowl and have already placed my early season prop bets.

Well it's reasonable. Scoring overall is at a low this year. Besides Miami. But with low scoring close games, THE QB PLAY is paramount. That favors mahomes and the chiefs. In close games, he comes thr

I also got very good odds on another prop bet. I have Kansas City playing Detroit in the Super Bowl @ 24/1. Couldn't resist. Now you know who I'm rooting for After Prescott, McCarthy and Jerry implode the Cowboy season later in the year. So I hope I cleared that up so you don't have to ask me again or to try and turn and twist further posts.

Ravens are the best team in the AFC. As well as the best team in Football at the moment.

Both the Ravens & Bengals are clearly better.

But the team you should be worried about is Baltimore. They're legit.

KC leads the league in dropped passes.

Not counting this loss to the Packers, the Chiefs were #8 in yards and #10 in points.

Can Mahomes carry these unproven WRs all the way through the playoffs?

That is what a generational QB is suppose to do, carry and raise the level of the team, even if his supporting cast isn't as great as it used to be. His numbers are very good but they don't seem otherworldly like in previous seasons.

Of course Tyreke Hill is having a record year, threatening 2000 receiving yards for the Dolphins. Which players would KC have had to let go if they decided to meet Hill's salary demands a couple of seasons ago?

How much better would the Chiefs offense be this year if they still had Hill terrorizing defenses?

Still once in the playoffs, hard to go against Mahomes, but there's a good chance they may not be able to host games at Arrowhead, where they have a distinct HFA with the loudest home crowd noise in the league.
