Hope he's okay.

Just have to hope it wasn't a butting of heads between the two. That would come off looking real shakey out the gate.

Re: Stotts Steps Down
Best case scenario is he didn't want to put up with the grind, but that still leaves us with a massive hole on this coaching staff in terms of experience and offensive strategy. Worst case would be either a serious health problem or major dysfunction within the coaching staff.
Is there anyone we could even replace him with or are we rolling with Prunty as the top assistant for the year?

Remember, he was out of coaching for two years, and he's 65. Hoping it's just the desire to enjoy life without the travel and pressure and not a health or organizational issue.

Re: Stotts Steps Down
He’s old and rich and hasn’t coached in 2yrs, this should be chalked up to a change of heart imo. Unless there’s a health concern it’s hard to blame a guy for just simply not wanting to work anymore.
It was nostalgic seeing him on the sidelines again. Dame is here and happy, Giannis is motivated, Brook and Khris are both reportedly healthy and we have 2 young promising wings in Jackson and Beauchamp. Bucks basketball is still where it needs to be. God speed Terry, it was short but fun while it lasted. Hope everything is alright.

I don't know...of course I hope all it was was a change of heart, but 4 preseason games is very fast to realize you changed your mind. Did he forget how much of a grind it is in those two years off?

Leaves a pretty big hole on the Bucks bench, Stotts being there was a big part of what made people here comfortable with the Adrian Griffin hire. Mission accomplished getting Dame here? Are they going to bring someone else in? It's such short notice.

Does this not inspire confidence?

Looks like D’Antoni is a coaching advisor for the Pelicans. Wonder if he’d leave that post to be lead assistant.

The most likely "otherwise" is that after being away from coaching for two years, he realized his mind and body just weren't up for it anymore.

Re: Stotts Steps Down
He's in his 60's and it makes complete sense if he didn't wanna go through the coaching grind anymore, but you couldn't have figured that out sooner than a week before the season opener? The organization is obligated to put out a decent explanation here. If we get some standard "Just wanted to spend more time with the family" press release, then I'm immediately suspecting there was some clash with coaches, players, or both. Not good optics at all.
