If it was as simple 'more time with family' or health I kind of feel like that would have been mentioned in the Woj tweet. The vauge wording makes me think something is up. I'm sure more will come out over the next couple days.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

If AD is a GI approved/desired hire, then Bucks have to live with whatever is going on for however it takes to play out before things come to a head. And they will.
GI/AD confused the hell out of me.
Sorry my bad. On phone. Went the short route and missed the mark. Meant GA and AG. Thanks. Didn't notice it before. I'll fix it.

Which doesn't answer the question I asked at all. He's 0-0 so other than blind optimism why should I trust him when so many other teams(not to mention our front office) passed on him
Now change "blind optimism" to "blind pessimism" and see how it reads.
I've stated reasons I was pessimistic.
-13 other teams passed on him when he interviewed for the job(and it's rumored our FO & ownership wanted someone else)
-He's planning on starting a guy who was benched in the playoffs
-He's changing the role of the reigning DPOY runner up
-He just lost his top assistant and offensive coordinator right before the season starts
Those are all negative things imo, and maybe each one can be written off individually, but on the whole there's been quite a few things that can be perceived negatively.

The only way I am even remotely cool with this is if Griff wanted Jackson Jr. to start over Beasly and Stotts disagreed.

Re: Stotts Steps Down
The only logical explanation for this is personal/health reasons. We will probably never know exactly and that's fine.
Stotts understands the grind. No way there are 2nd thoughts about that. This is a dream coaching job: A championship level NBA team led by a coachable superstar, not to mention a bunch of other good guys, period. With his experience, he truly understands the role of an assistant coach. There's no way he came in with any pretense of 'calling the shots' for anything. And there's no way there wasn't plenty of communication prior to the hire between them about roles and how the team would function. If you're leaning towards the drama angle on this, you've probably spent too much time watching fake reality TV.

My gut says Stotts was kind of pressured/promised into this role and somewhat begrudgingly accepted it. Then after we get Dame, he realizes that the role and influence he was promised wasn't coming to fruition. Agonizes about it and ultimately figures it was better for the team to leave now instead of let his own issues with the team/staff become a larger problem for the players.
But who the hell knows.

I heard it was because they couldn't agree on who starts at SG.

Gotta say, you're doing a great job of showing why people should be excited in Griff other than blind optimism lol

EPI 100% knows the details. It's unlikely he divulges anything that isn't made public.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

This is my sincere hope and I do think it is the most likely "personal" reason.
I hope this is the case but it seems unlikely to me that a guy who has coached in the NBA for 26 years forgot about how much of a grind it is and changed his mind like a month in.
You don't forget, but you decide to try it out anyways thinking maybe it'll be better. It's like having another kid. You forget how truly brutal the newborn stage is, sort of, but you do it anyways. Then 2 months in you're cursing yourself.

Winning cures all. Start the season well and this becomes an afterthought. Start out rocky...welpp..board is going to battleground..could get ugly.

Re: Stotts Steps Down
Concern about the offense when the starters have played 0 minutes together is premature. And it will be premature a few games into the season when we don't immediately gel (which we won't).
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

So we shouldn’t be pessimistic or optimistic about our coach because his record is 0-0 but your saying epi 100% knows what happened even though he said himself this is news to him?

Re: Stotts Steps Down
There was an ATO in one of the preseason games where it looked like Terry and AG weren’t on the same page about it and then AG went into the huddle breaking down the play. The entire dynamic looked weird could see it on their faces there was tension.
This is a complete guess but I think Stotts was under the impression he’d have full control of the offense and AG decided he didn’t want to fully be hands off.

Re: Stotts Steps Down
Stotts was our safety valve.
I (And most of us) took some comfort going into the season that if it turns out AG is not NBA head coaching material At least we have Stotts..
Reunited with the Bucks, reunited with Dame in Milwaukee, best shot in his NBA coaching career to get a ring. Must be something serious to step down.

News to him now, but I know he will get the story directly from Stotts. That's all I'll say about that. But he won't post it here. Whatever is released publicly he may opine on.
At this point we don't know how much, if anything, will be released by the Bucks.

That's very possible. It was a forced marriage that apparently didn't work. If that's the case, and no one knows right now, then I'm glad it was resolved now and didn't fester into the season.

I'm scrubbing through the replay of the OKC game and there were a few instances where there was some weird communication between the two, but I don't know if that's just me assuming something between them now... I'm just gonna wait to hear more lol.
