I will say, this will just give the national media more reason to talk down on us. Bring it on I guess.

This is just not good, no matter how some may spin it.

Someone's ego couldn't handle Stotts either way it was enough for him to leave which isn't a good look.

This isn't mid season or end of season, its one week before. This team is filled with VETs and unless Giannis, Dame, Khris all of a sudden become Divas or James harden, I have confidence they will figure it out.
I get this, but logically speaking here, Stotts was a guy who was universally praised as a great hire, so it would make sense then that losing him would be considered a bad thing. The season isn't over or anything and we still have the best roster in the NBA, but it's OK to be positive when good things happen and negative when bad things happen
100% agree. but it's good to step back and take a look at the situation. I thought Stotts was a great hire. Let him run the offense. But this team is full of vets and if I remember correctly, the bucks didn't run an offense under Bud. It was "random" and you had to stay in your little taped circle. most of the guys are back and familiar outside of dame, payne, and rookies. They have 82 games to figure this out and i am confident they will get it straightened out.
No they dont have 82 games ro figure this sh.. out unless your happy being a 7th or 8th seed wtf cant be experimenting during the RS no other chip caliber team takes that attitude.1 month maybe 2 should be all it takes at the most.

id suggest its the first time in the history of the league that a lead assistant with a decade of head coaching and playoff experience has ever bailed on a rookie head coach before a season has even started.....and lets not kid ourselves here.... for not wanting to be a part of what he perceives is an oncoming trainwreck
the fact he would rather, and intends to.... coach somewhere else and leave this roster without even making an attempt....is a massive indictment against AD. its literally a statement.... stotts sent a missile and clearly hopes to not harm his career. the timing makes that obvious.

This has really taken the luster off of the opener next week in my opinion. Bucks need to have an answer for this.

Bucks are hamstrung. Giannis was the driving force behind hiring AG. Really bad situation.
ETA: I guess the silver lining is that we have looked completely incapable of running offense in the preseason also. Outside of Giannis/Dame PnR we look totally lost. So perhaps it won't be a massive dropoff. However the move is a total vibe killer.

I'd rather have Stotts here but i'm sorry, an assistant coach stepping away does not take away the luster of watching Dame and Giannis play a real game for me.
The answer will be winning games. Win games and nobody will care about this at all. If we struggle then Griffin was going to be the first one under siege from this board anyway.

and seriously what would be worse.... the players being glad he bailed.... the players being pissed he bailed..... or the lockerroom split?

If you're combing, see if you find the just before commercial break grab of Giannis by Stotts.

This is a dream job for someone
.. who is that really good former coach that never got a ring but wants one bad... or the next guru genius type that wants exposure in a highly publicized playoff run where he gets the reigns. We have more leverage to get someone even better than Stotts now that Dame is here.

We were the #1 scoring offense in the league 3 years in a row under Bud. Even last season with all of our injuries we finished top 10 (and we were #1 in the postseason, our scoring defense was last).

That assumes AG wants another voice in the room, and wants to share "the reigns" with another coach. We have not idea if that is/is not the case at this point
