100%. It's not like Stotts has a history of being a diva as far as I know.

AG is in the situation for the first time. Can't help but think of DV... I'll probably get blasted for this but control and anger can be issues for individuals who DV...

I'm thinking more that AG-Stotts relationship was probably always on edge for the possibility of AG being upstaged by someone who has more experience (and is closer to the star player we just got).

Everyone applauded the Stotts hiring to help AG, but that is also a tough position to put AG into:

1) it isn't a vote of confidence
2) your replacement is right there behind you
3) players (especially Dame) could identify with the more experienced Asst. Coach more.

It seems like it was an abrupt decision and it took the organization by surprise but there's definitely got to be a reason why, saying nothing is saying something or at least feels like it.

Yes, all 7 of the people overreacting in here lol. Ya'll need to chill out.

Someone clearly hasn't been on social media today. Now clearly social media is only a small chunk of the fanbase but its also where the fire starts for calling for a coach. It seems AG has used up his grace period

Stotts could have already calmed this whole thing down by making up some 'more time with family' excuse when he leaked the news to Woj. But he didn't and I'm guessing it was him who leaked the stuff that's come out so far.

Yes it appears it was Stotts decision but he's been around long to know how to put out this fire and it appears he's chosen not too.

As far as Griffins fault, I wouldn't go that far because we don't know the details, but it's not a great look.

Maybe he just didnt like AG which is very possible and maybe their coaching philosophies were just totally different .AG may want ro run a toronto based O who knows both are grown men 1 walked away from it

A few weeks back I started digging up articles from the summer to assuage my concerns about Griffin. This is surprising and just plain bad news regardless of the details, but a fair amount of my stress over this is the needle creeping towards "Jason Kidd" every time Griffin talks or a report comes out from his orbit.

I actually think it would be less talked about solely because one of the reasons we all talked ourselves into the stotts experience was his connection with Lillard who definitely still seems a bit shell shook from the experience of being traded to his 3rd choice at best.

What stuff has come out?
All I've seen is the JS article saying 'league source' that the 'fit never materalized'

Not a big deal but my overall point is Stotts has been around this league long enough to understand the fire storm this would cause and the fact he didn't do anything to put it out even with some lame PR statement is a little telling.

There are so many reasons as to why this happened that it feels irresponsible to just outright rip on either guy (Stotts/Griff), unless concrete information comes out pointing clearly in one direction.

Just gonna let Dame/Giannis cook and save my overreactions if the on court product sucks in November, December, etc. Quite frankly I’m not sure from an X’s and O’s standpoint it’s even a big loss given the top end offensive talent we have. It would’ve been more problematic pre-Dame trade.

I was bought in on this working out with Terry as support & the entire team enjoying the situation. But this just makes things look really weird.

On the positive side.

-This isn't a Nash type situation for a first year coach. Good thing he has 10 plus years coaching under his belt.

-Prunity is one step closer again to the HC spot.

I've had just as many people text me today with something along the lines of "wtf" or "not good" as I did with people texting me in excitement when we traded for Dame. This clearly has hit the casual fanbase to

If Prunty has any chance at HC, then why didn't Stotts stick around to beat put AG?

Hopefully, Griffin works out fine & they bring in the right staff member to replace Terry.

I feel like we'd hear more media grumblings about Griffin if he was some tyrant of a head coach.

My gut feeling is that this arranged marriage didn't work out because they were forced on one another and nothing more. I wouldn't be shocked if Bucks brass told Stotts he'd be running the whole offense when they were courting him and Griffin being the head coach understandably has a certain idea of what his team's offense should look like. It doesn't mesh with Stotts style and because he's the head coach he gets the final say on what happens. Stotts feels like what he was promised isn't coming to fruition and he's bailing.

You can argue where the line should be drawn on the level of influence Stotts and Griffin each have on the offense, but I doubt this is some major canary in the coal mine for the whole operation.

Anyone have any idea of someone with a tie to AG that he may look to here? I would assume they will fill the spot although I don’t think the Celtics did last year after all their coaching issues.

If as Windy said this was an arranged marriage glad it happened now rather than later. We aren’t exactly losing Red Auerbach here

Some Blazers fans in reddit believe it has to be something between Scotts and Dame. There were rumors that it was more than Nurkic pushing out Scotts out of their team in the past. If Dame wasn't comfortable with him and he wanted a completely new beginning its all good.

That's possible of course. But Dame gave the green light to come here, knowing Stotts was already here.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
