He functionally retired a long time ago.

Excellent career. Was the kind of player any team would have wanted as one of their core guys.

Won a world championship and olympic gold medal too.

Looking forward to seeing him on more podcasts and in the media.

Congrats to a great career? Wonder if he will be hired on board to the Warriors staff.

Just a genuinely good dude and interesting to see his career trajectory going from a dude who could never really breakthrough as "the guy" in Philly, to mentor and defensive specialist and role player later in his career which grounded some championship teams (though I will always find his FMVP to be a joke, like Tony Parker's). Great career though like yall are saying

andre iguodala getting into the hof would be beyond ridiculous. zero career mvp votes, never even a top 15 player imo, few international accolades to speak of. his most memorable years were as a role player.

Philly Iguodala is the most iconic but Warrior Iguodala is actually insanely underrated. Not to mention he was the move that put the dynasty in motion. Very solid career

All time defense n' dimes type of player.

There are certain play actions on defense where Iggy was literally the best I've ever seen. Timing the swipe down, and stunting in transition were things he did at a genius level. There were times when he was the Warriors second best player. Crazy for him to have positive +/- numbers coming off the bench for a team that had the best starting lineup in the world.

If you only care about scoring, you probably don't get the Iggy hype. But he was star level at everything else. Even in terms of scoring, he was a positive efficiency scorer over his career, and a totally solid scorer for 5 of his younger seasons.

One of my favorite players of this generation. I was mad when he betrayed Denver, but enjoyed watching him in the playoffs in Golden State. I really enjoyed how scrappy some of those Phili teams were before the process. I sometimes imagine an alternate reality where they stuck with Holiday, Iguodala, and Thaddeus Young, and kept bringing in volume scorers to balance thing out (held onto Vooch for example). Would never have been a title team but would have won some playoff series and put up some mean defenses and high IQ basketball. That 2012 Sixers team that took Boston to 7 in the second round... they were really fun. One of my favorite non-contending teams ever.

I think he deserves to get his jersey retired but the HOF is a bit much.

BB IQ off the charts. I'm sure the Warriors would love to have him on the staff, he practically was last year from the bench, but he has too many other irons in the fire to spend that much time there.

Don't forget about Nuggets Iggy! One of the best players on a weird, random 57 win team. One of the forgotten pieces of the Dwight/Bynum trade in 2012 (which by the way, does not get enough credit for one of the worst trades of all time on Philly's end for trading Iggy and Vucevic for Bynum)

Successful career. He was actually really good even in his Philly days.
