I like Kornet in the backup role. We scored 80 points in first half against Knicks with him in that role and him looks as shaky as ever.

I think I like Queta (or trading for another) as a replacement if a starter gets injured because I don’t like the idea of Kornet playing 30 min because of his poor rebounding.

I agree with those above who think Queta on a 2 way is perfect for now. I think he has a lot more upside than any of the other bigs we have trialed in Maine before - ie. Kabengele, Vonleh, Taco etc. I hope he plays a lot tonight.

One point - there's not much advantage to converting to a regular contract unless you know he's going to play a lot. He's locked in on the cheap 2 way deal for the year; it's not like NFL practice squads (or regular g league Maine Celtics roster) where other teams can poach guys.

Y'all stop this. Do not freakin "North Shore Boston hockey" up a nickname for this man. It's Queta. Just Queta.

He has to learn to shoot free throws. The rest looks fine to me. Good rebounder at both ends, lob threat.

Double posting this .. and I don't care..

Of course it is only one game, so can't judge yet, but even if you think Kornet has a higher floor at this moment, clearly Queta has a higher ceiling..

6 for 6 was very Timelord like..

I hope he wins the 3rd center spot
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

I agree. Kornet has a higher floor and Queta will eventually be better. That is why Queta will stay on 2-way for now and Kornet will remain 3rd big. Kornet’s guarantee doesn’t kick in until January so that makes him attractive as a throw in fo a trade. I wouldn’t rule out Queta being bumped up if a trade materializes but for now, Kornet is the 3rd big.

I also have heard that Sacramento fans have seen this pre-season hype dissipate when Queta plays more minutes against NBA starters.

Seems like a good dude. He seems locked in, focused, serious. Probably because he knows that this was just preseason and he is determined to show that he is a legit NBA player after only playing in like 7 games all last season. He probably feels like he should have played more in sacramento, probably is pissed he got cut by the kings.

He's determined to make his mark in this league. And he knows he's gotta do it in reg season - preseason doesn't mean a whole lot.

Seems like he's got a good mindset.

With Al aging and KP the only legit C on the team, it's just a matter of time when Queta will get his chance to play meaningful minutes.

Queta might push Kornet into joining the front office instead.

The final roster will be very interesting. Queta is making it very hard to keep him off the roster. However, we saw Vonleh and Gele make cases last year and neither proved themselves as reliable NBA players once the real games started. It would be great for the team if Queta forces his way into the backup big position. I still think the plan is for him to start season as a 2-way because the Celtics can do that but he is making it a more difficult decision and Kornet’s rebounding woes are too.

Can’t wait for that Al-Queta double big lineup.

Not sure how often we'd see that lineup. Not enough ball handling - too much burden on Pritchard to do all the ball handling, bringing the ball up the floor every possession, running the offense and initiating actions.

That's one reason why banton has gotten so many minutes this preseason.

Need someone else out there with Pritchard, whether it's Banton, Jrue, White, Tatum or possibly Svi..

We are not going to see an all bench lineup at all unless the team is up by 20 points in the 4th.

So its moot.

Im looking more like primary backups by position.

Ok well Hauser isn't a SG. Not that SG is even a real position anymore. It's really just guards, wings and bigs at this point..And even sometimes those positions get blurred. Like Banton is kind of a guard and a wing - Svi too. Lots of guys these days play 2 (or even 3) different positions. And in a switching defense, sometimes have to defend 4 (or even 5) different positions on the floor..
