It’s finally here! Season’s tip-off: join the board’s therapy session!

Dear fellow Celtics fans,

this off-season Brad made bold, significant changes to the roster and if you have followed the pre-season you must be excited for what is about to come. The team has played well and outscored rivals for a 4-1 record, Kristaps seems to fit smoothly into the mold and there seems to be a healthy competition at the bench for rotation minutes.

In short, there are a lot of reasons for optimism. As we know though, the season is very long and just like we are expecting to have lots of highs in terms of play and wins there will be for sure a few lows (Miami series, anybody?). How far we will advance in the play-offs, nobody knows either.

It is for that reason that I felt like bringing this one up: call it a confession hour, a stupid game or a real community bonding tool; I don’t care as much as long as you are in!

I propose for those willing to participate to open up a little and talk about your feelings with this team. I assume we are all fans and pretty excited, so you can expand on positivity of course but I’ll also give out a couple key points, specially some to break the ice for the negativity that will eventually show up in this sub-forum (which is natural, but I believe also harder to admit beforehand).

Got it? Let’s call our cards and biases now and maybe even avoid a stupid fight or two and have some laughs along the way!

Suggested:

A) What are your general expections for the 2023-2024 Celtics?
B) What are you comfortable with? What are you not?
C) Who (or what) are you already ready to blame when things go south?
D) What (or who) have you made peace with? With what (or whom) have you not?
(...) Feel free to expand.

Cheers all and GO CELTICS!!!

It's Jaylen's fault.

I'll go.

A) What are your general expections for the 2023-2024 Celtics?

I'm hyped. Kristaps adds a new dimension we didn't have and Holiday is just a proven 2-way master. I'm comfortable saying we should cruise to the ECF if we get just a B in performance and luck with injuries. Not sure about beating the Bucks though. Both teams will need to develop chemistry and prove it. It's there for the taking. Championship chances? We're good but realistically it's like 30% only, in my opinion. Nuggets 35%, Bucks/Celtics 30% each, the field 5%. :dontknow:

B) What are you comfortable with? What are you not?

I'm comfortably optimistic generally and I think the team will be fun to watch. JB used to be my favourite, now makes me nervous. I'm not comfortable trusting Mazzula in the playoffs. I love Tatum, but in reality we'll only go as he goes, and Giannis and Joker are better than him so... play-off basketbal... :dontknow:. I believe this

C) Who (or what) are you already ready to blame when things go south?

I'm sorry but this is easily JB and Joe. And just behind, Brad. JB is great, but he should cater more to Tatum for the Cs good. So that is on him and on Joe. I tend to trust Brad, but the moves he made this sumer, while bold, are also risky. We shouldn't forget that. He made an all-in move, which seems to be preferable with the new CBA landscape. I just would've traded Brown before trading Smart, but that is probably more emotional than rational. I wanted the Cs to win a ring with Smart, but Brad's choices were brave and sensible too.

D) What (or who) have you made peace with? With what (or whom) have you not?

I've made peace with partying ways with Smart, but that one hurt. Losing Rob and Brogdon also hurt, Holiday wasn't cheap. I've made more peace with the first deal than the second, but getting Porzingis and Holiday is no small feat.

I've kinda made peace with Brad trusting Joe again, but I'll ask for his head if the team doesn't buy in or if we fail for tactical decisions. But I'm happy we added Cassell and Lee. I trust the coaching staff now more than last year. You have one more chance brother Joe

We have as much talent but with potentially better chemistry and Fit than any of our previous teams since KG. and we have as much overall talent and Fit as any current NBA team. Obviously heath, as in any team trying to win the title, will determine so much..

But as my sig states, "if not this year, when?"
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..
