How do they do? Those outlet passes for quick 3s by Steph and Klay seem interesting imo.

No range, no shot blocking, ass at the foul line... seems like not a great player to add to that particular team. He could find utility in other places, but I don't think Golden State is a spot where he gets maximized.

Great outlet passer and rebounder, but super not worthwhile for that alone. Don't think he'd do much for their D, either.

Unseld was also a terrific screen setter. Not in terms of a P&R (definitely not a finisher as the roller; more like a bulldozer than roller!) but just in terms of setting solid screens for Curry and Klay to run their defenders into would be a weapon. Unseld certainly wouldn't be the best choice to add to the Dubs (I think I'd go with a 'healthy Walton' - yes I know those two words don't go together - or Russell) but Unseld could still be of value.

Unseld wasn't just a great outlet passer, he was a great passer period and very smart player all-around. I think his screen setting and high post offense would bring also a lot of value for the Warriors offense.

The main problem would be spacing, but Unseld wasn't a worse shooter than Zaza or Bogut. I think he'd improve Warriors significantly.

He'd get run off the floor on defense.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Unseld during his Baltimore Bullets days was pretty nice all around...at least offensively. 14 17 nearly 4apg on almost 50% shooting.

It's worth a thought, for sure. I'll admit, I don't know enough about Wes to really dig into this one much more than a surface impression.

Bogut was a very good defender

Yeah, while being way slower laterally than Unseld. My point stands.

He's a rich man's Bogut, but I don't know how much difference that makes.

In 2015 and 2017 they dominated the regular season and won the title without a particularly close series. So getting better means what?
In 2018 they had the close series with Houston he might have helped with, though that series went very small-ball so he also might have been played off the court.
In 2019 they lost in the finals because with Klay and KD injured Nurse could run the 'everybody guard Steph' defense. I don't know that Unseld really helps with that.
The 2016 finals is the one place he could have mattered. Especially if - unlike Bogut and Ezeli - he was healthy for game 7. A few extra stops and defensive rebounds and GS wins a close game.
