He will be in his 4th season, so can't be a two-way for anyone. I really see his development at what Rob was in year 2 with us. Give him a full offseason working with Al and Rob, and I think he will become our 3rd/4th big. He could be our Grant Williams replacement if he shows improvement. He is bigger and stronger than Grant, shoots the 3 (just not as good as Grant yet) blocks shots, and best of all, is only 25 and healthy.

Thing is, Kabengele is gonna be 26 next season. He's actually 2 months OLDER than rob.

Rob's 2nd season you're referring to, he was only 22. So you're thinking that Kabengele (at age 26) can make a leap that Rob made when he was only 22.

It typically does not work that way. There's exceptions, but for the most part if a guy is 26 and still hasn't become an NBA rotation player, it's not gonna happen. Usually the only exceptions to this is if a guy was like overseas and hadn't really had a chance to prove he can make it in the NBA until age 26+. Or if it was a guy who tried to make it in the NBA at a very early age (like 19-22) but wasn't ready yet, gets cut by an NBA team and then ends up playing overseas for a few years so hadn't had a chance to prove himself in the NBA once he was developed more.

But even those cases are pretty rare. But Kabengele has been right here, in the US, under contract with NBA teams ever since he got drafted 4 years ago - yet he's spent pretty much the whole time in the g league.

At this point, he's probably just a guy who's a really good g league player but can't quite make it in the NBA. Perhaps if he goes to a bad team, he could get some minutes there. But at this point, the odds aren't good for him getting a legit role on a contender like the celtics.

You are more than likely right, but in his defense, we are his 3rd team in 3 years. I believe he would be AT LEAST good enough for a 15th man for us.

But he wasn't good enough for 15th man this season.

If he was, we wouldn't have signed Vonleh AND Griffin. If he was, Kabengele would have beaten out 1 of them in training camp for the last roster spot. Vonleh didn't even have a guaranteed contract till the end of training camp and was playing in the chinese league last season - yet he beat him out.

Kornet didn't have a fully guaranteed contract and he beat Kabengele for a roster spot, too. And Kornet rode the bench for us last year. Kabengele put up better numbers in the g league than kornet did in many categories last season, yet Kornet beat him out.

Then when we traded Vonleh, we had an open roster spot. we needed another big man, especially with rob injured and al sitting out back to backs. we could have called up kabengele. but we traded for Muscala.

Then, next season we'll have Gallo back..

I think that this offseason, the likely scenario is we part ways with Pritchard and Kabengele. Pritchard will get traded to a bad team where he can get more minutes. Kabengele will either sign with a bad team (where he can compete for a roster spot and potentially some actual minutes) or perhaps he goes and plays overseas (where he can make more $ than he can in the g league). After all, starting next season, he's no longer eligible for a 2-way, and guys in the g league who aren't on a 2-way make sh*t for money - you can make way more overseas.

Jelly doesn’t have nba level feel for the game, and he’s not all that athletic, just can get up off two feet for dunks.

So that at least 3 Guys that we're looking at to be Affiliates. We waived a couple more earlier, too?
We can only have 4 Affiliates at a time. Not sure if they can be replaced, for others that we've waived?

LOBcity!

(Lobsters is, sadly, just as good a name as 'Pelicans' in all honesty)
(and to the actual topic here: Maine, WTF? I will not say hello to the "Maine Celtics", or your logo with a lobster with huge pecs)

What is wrong with Maine? I would have preferred Hartford so I can go, but Portland is awesome .

I would have preferred Providence or Worcester. 1 hour away from 1/2 the fan base. But Portland does not have college teams to draw away interest.

Oh cool. Wendell Green is on the team. Nice pickup. Probably not an NBA player (hence, why he's playing in G league) but he was a pretty good college PG.

Tough, fearless, quick. The main drawback is that he's only 5'11". But he can shoot (better shooter than his college numbers suggest, because many of his shots were off the dribble and from way deep.

But he's fun to watch. Nice combination of shooting ability + toughness.

With his strength + quickness + toughness and only being 5'11", definitely seems like a dude who probably played football in high school.

He's fun. And it's gonna be fun with him and JD on the same team - they played against each other in college - JD for Alabama and Green for Auburn.

Between JD, Green and Steward, not a lot of height with those 3 guys but definitely some guys who will be fun to watch at the G league level.

Then you got Knight and Queta for bigs, Snell on the wing.

Looks like a fun team!
