Giannis is too good to take the ball completely out of his hands but everybody expected to see him a lot as a roller with Lillard in the pnr and I think I saw only a one such case. Even himself and Lillard were talking about it

All the young guys look legitimately solid.

Defense and athleticism, presumably. probably a bit more in the finishing department as well.

you have to remember that you have mostly watched Green play against end of bench guys while you have been watching Grayson play against starters and rotation players. it's hard to compare the two based on what we have seen.

case in point: look how good Marjon looked against the scrubs tonight. against starters it's been pretty different. but hey, he'll get his shot. it's not like they DONT want a guy who can make a legitimate run at hitting 50% from 3 to be on the court if he can be.

They all aren't going to develop into NBA level players, but I'd pretty surprised if atleast 2 of the MarJon, AJJ, AJ Green, & TyTy group don't become legit contributors at some point. I'm really glad we have them all on long term control. That's really good work by Jon Horst

Agreed. Ultimately I think a Dame and Giannis pairing, with Khris and Brook benefiting, will be lethal to other teams. But it will take some time. Throw in Pat, Jae, Crowder, AJJ, MarJon, AJG, look out.

With a pretty deep bench of

Payne
Beauchamp
Beasley
Crowder
Portis

Hopefully AJJ supplants one of the bench vets, and AJ Green is a nice emergency break glass option. Unfortunately I bet Griffin starts Beasley and Robin gets significant minutes even with Bobby healthy.

Last year he finished at the rim at a greater percentage than ever. He's a great finisher. He'll take plenty of 3's but he'll also go to the rim (and FT line) plenty. Don't read too much into 3 preseason games.

How wild would it be if the downfall of this team is that Giannis isn’t willing to give up the ball and that our coach who was handpicked by Giannis is too much of a cuck to do anything about it.

Don’t think that will ultimately happen, but they need to get the ball out of Gianni’s’ hands ASAP.

i'm not sure how rocky it will get but it's definitely going to take some time until it looks like a well oiled machine. Dame has said he's taking the slow approach when it comes to asserting himself, and that's probably smart, but the more he can do that, the easier it will be for Giannis to relax a little and loosen the grip on the offense. the guy just hates losing, so i can understand how he falls back onto old habits even with Dame around him.

he needs to stop shooting the 3s though. i just checked and he was down to 2.7 per game last season, a 5 year low, but let's get that down to 2.

Beasley should strictly be an off the bench flame thrower and that's it. Like basically Forbes where you put him permanently on the bench after round one. He cannot play D, he just can't, and he's going to create a higher usage for himself than he deserves as a starter. A younger Wes Matthews would be the ideal fit at the 2 for this team. Basically i'm ready to put Marjon at the 2 and see what happens. He can hit an open 3, and he can defend at least at an average level. #ByeBeasley

This could all be an elaborate deke and the real AG offense is gonna show up in game 50, where Dame is the primary ball handler, Giannis is setting 50 ball screens, and the offense is an efficient machine.

But right now Giannis is taking pull up threes, Dame is sitting in the corner, the only legit offensive coach quit, and AG looks like a puppet hand picked joke.
