Scottie 3 ball seems to be better, would be great if he shot 36% on 3's in the regular season as that would bolster his offense.

his overall aggression seems good but this is pre season and I haven't seen any team they faced play good paint defense or pick him up when he is bringing the ball up.

Just having a coach that doesn't make a fool of himself on the sidelines day in day out is going to be a relief. Here's hoping the refs take a liking to his disposition too.

Nurse constantly hyperventalating on the sidelines over unimportant calls became really annoying to watch the last couple years. Can't imagine how the refs and players musta felt. Giving it to the refs for mistakes is needed from time to time but if you're cussing them out on every possession then it loses meaning. Philly fans turning on him by their 3rd game will be funny as hell.

Easily the most hated coach by all the refs, and it is deserved.

You can see the difference in team morale when everyone knows they're a part of the team and they're all working together. So many plays and decisions I've seen so far this year that I wouldn't have seen in similar scenarios last year. Guys actually passing on the break instead of forcing up their own out of control layups.

Dick finally showing why we drafted him. His shooting prowess is gonna be huge for us. Scottie on another level this year. I told you all. Addition by subtraction. There was too much talent on this team to be as bad as we were last season. Darko finally got us playing the way this team always should've been playing. Together.

The on court product last year was one of the worst offerings in the league. It was just gross. The axe did not fall on the coach quick enough.

Exactly. If they win 35 games playing like this. it will still be better than last season.

I'd be more encouraged if the roster spots held by Thad & Temple went to Dowtin & JBL - I know they are not game changers but they can contribute and are more relevant.

I do like Darko's added ball movement BUUUUUT we didn't face any good defensive teams so I think some of you need to pump the brakes on acting like we're set to have a great season. I need to see what it looks like by say mid-season once teams have started to scout the changes we made & the better defensive teams make those jumpers tougher.

Personally I'm still not sold we're a Playoff team...but I'm encouraged.

Preseason doesn't mean much BUT we would all be having a collective meltdown if Barnes was putting up 2-10 shooting nights with bad defense and horrible 3pt%. He just put up 19/6/3 while shooting 63% from the field and 44% from 3 in 22 minutes per game. It all looked so effortless too.

It may not be a precursor to what's coming but there is nothing more Barnes could have done this summer to make us feel more hopeful. Everything he's said, everything others have said about him, everything he's done (by all accounts been in the gym the entire summer), and now everything he's shown us in preseason. Everything is pointing in the right direction.

Yeah the whole veteran presence thing is overblown and not helpful, unless they can play. I can't believe they literally doubled down on the concept adding Temple to Thad.

Only one veteran allowed per team.

Is that the point I was making? It's a matter of philosophy. I'm all for veterans who can also contribute on the court, but guys who are pretty much washed, the young guys won't listen to them so much anyway. We saw that with Thad and Scottie last year. I like Thad and not even saying he was wrong that time, but it doesn't work. In my opinion better to have young players who can develop and contribute when there are injuries

Lol, you don’t honestly believe that do you? Why are washed up veterans sticking around on clubs all around the league then?

You have absolutely zero evidence for this ridiculous claim.

And Dowtin is NOT young. He’s 26 years old.

It has nothing to do with philosophy but that he emotionally invested himself in Dowtin's success.

The CBA now allows for 3 two way players (Jeff used to be one of those). That's 3 extra roster spots just for developing players that can fill in and contribute when there are injuries (just like Jeff did last season!). Two of those guys are guards (just like Jeff).

The vets who are washed have a function. Hell, Scottie praised them earlier in summer camp. He's said nothing but positive things about Thad Young. After last night's game, Gradey Dick said the vets on the team have helped him understand NBA spacing and how to adjust to the speed of the game. He didn't say the other young players helped him.

Otto already looked like he tweaked something when he exited the game yesterday. He was super slow and awkward walking back to the bench.

The speed and force Scottie Barnes attacks the rim reminds me of Vince Carter in bringing back the excitement

Darko should demote all the low IQ selfish players.

Bro should demote himself then for putting in Scottie in a 35 point game blow out

You know the score doesn't mean anything in pre-season. He put him back in to get his minutes up to prepare for the regular season. It sucks that he got hurt, but Darko shouldn't be criticized for that.

People literally complain about everything. Its basic common sense, he was ramping up the minutes to get the starters game ready.

In reality, none of us know the value of the vets.

I still like Nick and think he is a great coach. But man its refreshing not to see a coach yelling and turning red at the refs every 2 minutes.

Esp when they are end of bench players not expected to be in the rotation...

Said it weeks ago... this raptor team is deep and playoff bound... thrilled thst fvv and Nurse were gone... more minutes spread around and deeper rotation means players should be fresh going into the 4th quarter.

Small sample size and pre-season be damned, there's no way his 3p% doesnt spike this season, his catch and shoot/corner 3's look legit.
