Was talking gaming news with a friend the other day (me lamenting C:S2, he lamenting his issues with LotF), and long story short he really wanted me to check out Code Vein. I am, and I'm digging it quite a lot. It's like a not-frustratingly-difficult Soulsborne - from my experience, I'd compare it in difficulty to the first Jedi Survivor, which I could also handle - with an anime focus and much more outright story-driven than any others I've played. But yeah, liking it a lot and it's been a fun diversion for $6.

Code Vein is awesome. I didn't finish it but I think I got to the very end. In a sea of Soulslikes, it's definitely one of the better ones.

Spider-Man seems like a good one, but there's a lot more to memorize this time around. Just an enormous amount of button combinations. I'm sure I'll have it down eventually but early on it's taking the fun out of playing, at least on high difficulty.

This is bad, I unfortunately ordered a physical copy of SM2 and it got delayed by a day. I wasn’t planning to but I might have to…go outside.

I'm finally buying a new router. My current one is an Apple Airport Extreme from 2009. I don't really need a new router, but I figured it's been 15 years and hey maybe some new cool stuff has come along since then.

I think it's probably the best piece of tech I've ever bought, given how long I've used it without any issues at all.

Where does it give you the option to apply the discount? Did game + donation to hit $60 but no option to apply the discount.

Last screen before you hit submit. I didn't order anything but I tested it with 2K24 and it brought the game down $30.

Seems like you can still get by mostly just using attack, dodge, and jump as usual but I agree the amount of special attacks and stuff has overwhelmed me a bit on the highest difficulty. Feels like I almost never have the ability to heal either. I feel like I racked up focus a lot quicker in the first two games but maybe not. Having a blast regardless though.

Ended up getting the new Mario using that QVC deal. They've had a few sales like this over the last few months.

Naturally, I bought Wonder about 20 minutes before hopping onto the boards for the first time this weekend and seeing your post. But for $20 I might pick up the Mario & Rabbids sequel. That's a solid price.

Combat in Spider Man 2 is ruining the game for me. Taking down anyone perched is such a chore, and I'm goddamn SM.

ETA: I think I've figured it out and I'm dumb.

Completed BG3 tonight - just in time for basketball season. Helluva game.

I've been waiting to jump back in until I have a good chunk of time to commit to it. I think in about 3 weeks my schedule will slow down and I'll have some time to sit down with it for a few hours at a time again. I tried doing small chunks and I just never got immersed again. But I can't wait.

In the meantime, Code Vein has been really great. Think I'm about a third through from what I can tell. I don't really understand how builds work - or maybe equipment, more specifically - but maybe picking it up a little at a time. I wish more games like this were just a notch down in difficulty (like Code Vein - or maybe slightly harder). I love the mechanics, and I don't mind dying a few times :)

C:S2 sure seems to be headed for a disastrous launch.

Same. I haven’t had the time, nor did I want to burnout after putting A LOT of time into it in a short period of time. I want, say, at least a good four hour block to just play and haven’t had that recently. Still thinking of grabbing D4 on Steam for something mindless and easy to digest in small chunks. I think Wonder could serve the same purpose, but thinking it’d be way easy for someone to get that off my Amazon wishlist around Christmas.

Very disappointing too. It is sitting at 76 on metacritic but the reviews/videos I've seen leave a lot to be desired. Will be waiting a bit to even consider picking it up.
