I saw that and it’s the first thought that came to mind as well. Would be poetic to finally get him almost 20 years after the Ammo fiasco

Might be a good signing. I’m ready for this team to cut a crap load of junk players and take some chances. Bulls cut the G-League MVP PG Carlik Jones:

“Last season, Jones earned G-League MVP with the Windy City Bulls by way of averaging 20.3 points, 7.4 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game on 49.4% shooting from the field and 39.2% shooting from beyond the arc. He scored 20 points in seven games while playing with the Bulls last season.”

Frank is NOT our answer…not sure there is one.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I mean that's very true especially when we can't even really promise him playing time as the compromise for joining a dumpster fire. I guess he could be our backup power forward ahead of Thor

it's sort of devolved into a self licking ice cream cone at this point.

Team desperately needs some grown up voices in the locker room, but what grown ups want to join a team where dudes are laughing on the bench during a blow out and half the team is living court date to court date?

Sometimes, the only way to make an advancement is by shuffling some pieces around. That means management being willing to part ways with certain players they’re obviously attached to like Terry and Hayward. They represent two of our biggest contracts, our only two veterans and probably have the ability to net us some decent return that mixes things up and brings better balance to this roster.

Let's recap.... we have....
1 healthy point guard
2 healthy centers
0 healthy wing defenders
Almost no 3pt shooting
1 player suspended
4 guards out injured
3 rookies, 2 of which are nowhere near ready for rotation minutes

That's not a recipe for a winning season

And mitch is probably done making moves for the year

It really does feel like Mitch has been asleep for the past 2 offseasons.

At least Cho was sneaky good at finding solid pieces on the scrapheap, Mitch doesn't even do that.

We really need a new GM/President.

The new owners will hopefully do something, unless they still let MJ run things.

Remember Mitch tried walking away a couple years back but MJ persuaded him to stay. He's been coasting ever since.

The new owners don’t strike me as confident, knowledgeable NBA stewards who have a clear mission and time line.

This season is their “let’s make a nice, clean introductory debut” as majority owners. They will coast along, believing the junk they are told by Mundane Mitch and Calamity Clifford, until it is far too late to do anything about it. So they will let it burn, then call in the street sweepers to fumigate in the off season.

Frankly if they do blow things up and GET IT RIGHT ahead of next year, I’m OK with that. Odds are low on actually fixing the mess we have here for THIS season: legal distractions, injuries, no quality reserve PG, a lot of young kids that need experience, no strong vet voice and none on the horizon via trade. Plus we lost our first round pick next year to a STUPID trade.

So this season will be yet another transition year, while getting our core more experience together. Wait for Mitch to retire and the new GM to fire Clifford. Start over.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

As soon as the Miles news happened, I felt the front office needed to add some urgency to finding depth and improving the roster.

It feels like they've done absolutely nothing.

I wonder if they're a little intimidated by the old heads of Mitch n MJ.

They should have reacted to the historically low rating and looked to make a change, but they've probably been told how its all media bull.

Indeed I haven’t heard a peep from the pair. We can only speculate but such non-communication and non-action tells me they’re letting this train head to the old canyon bridge…the one with cracked timbers and rusted rails.

Per ESPN’S ranking of all 30 teams, Hornets are 29th, just above the Wizards. Other teams project to finish behind CLT with less wins, so not sure why they rank that low.
“ESPN Forecast: 30-52 | Caesars: 30.5 wins | Title odds: +50000”

Also, only one player rated in top 100 (LaMelo, #49). The next higher team at #28, Portland, has five ranked players:

Deandre Ayton (49), Jerami Grant (58), Scoot Henderson (78), Anfernee Simons (85), Robert Williams III (89)
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

The writing is on the wall, I think

Maybe they are thinking another top 3 pick is on the horizon and they will start with a clean slate next offseason

I think probably because the Hornets have the 2nd least upside...Washington obviously being the worst. I'd pretty much trade our entire roster and organization for every other team except the Wizards, for example. I think Atlanta and Chicago are pretty miserably set up for the future and they would give me pause, but at least they project to be playoff teams with good pieces. I'd trade rosters with Houston and Detroit in a nanosecond. Utah is just so much smarter of a FO, I'd do it even parting ways with LaMelo. I'm going on the record now that if healthy, both Thompson twins will be better than Miller. I'd bank on the twins learning how to shoot over Miller learning to be elite at anything, just from what we've seen from the three of them

Our roster isn't bad, but unless we get a new Bball operation team I don't have much faith in it.

Wizards have until 5 pm to get roster down to 15.
Meaning they have to trade/waive 2 guys.

They have guys that make sense to waive, but all 17 guys are guaranteed. Makes me think they may be trying to find a last minute trade.

Wouldn't expect us to be involved though, as our team released this 20 mins ago.

This, there's a reason teams like the Heat, Jazz, etc. win without a lot of talent. It's all about their organizational culture, i.e. coaching, scouting, trainers, support staff, etc.

It isn't a coincidence that bad organizations stay bad no matter how many high picks they have. The source of the problem isn't the talent, it's the subpar support structure and lack of organizational accountability.

Wizards waived Taj Gibson today, might be a solid pickup for a Vet big.
