Dubs gonna be a lot better this year without Wiggins and Steph missing a lot of games. Hoping Steph gets another one this year!

He's also going to dominate statistically, even if he's playing at three-quarter speed for stretches. I don't see Tatum winning it. Boston will likely have the top record but his counting stats are going to dip due to the Celtics being loaded and he's going to lose some votes due to all the help. I also think the media would feel weird about giving it to a guy who is a significantly worse player than Jokic. Dallas won't be good, so I can't see Luka winning it. Giannis is #2 but he is probably going to lose votes due to having another superstar on his team. That's been the pattern in the past.
Oh right winning two isn't enough lol. But he's owed one? How does that work?

Its not a dig at Embiid because when the runner up ends up winning a title and fMVP there will be a lot of people that consider them the real mvp. It's happened in the past to Barkley, Robinson, Malone, etc.

Bold prediction.
It's the Anthony Davis redemption tour.
Health is always a matter.
But if healthy.
The man has seen all of Giannis, Jokic, Embiid win.
Win the accolades he was supposed to win.
The "next great big man" who hasn't performed to the expectations. Who has seen others take what it should be his.

So I'll pick AD. For his motivation. For the fire i believe it has been set inside him.
I consider Giannis and Jokic better players than him. I think that Embiid is on the same level.
But this isn't an award for the best player.
It's an award for the regular season MVP.
AD has the motive. AD is the one that has to prove that he can lead a team.
If he does that with LeBron as a sidekick...this award can be his. Because he will have the narrative.

First, Booker has exactly zero chance of winning the MVP when Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal on his team. KD probably doesn't either.

Lillard has no chance with Giannis on his team. Giannis probably doesn't either.

Embiid can't win again until he shows something in the playoffs, at least a Finals run.

Dallas isn't substantially better unless they get production from their rookies, so I don't see Luka leading them anywhere.

Curry and KD are unlikely to play 65 games.

Not sure how Boston's additions affect Tatum statistically-- maybe the whole team is harder to guard so efficiency might go up, but they'll also want to get theirs so his volume may go down.

My top 5, then, is:
1. Jokic
2. Tatum
3. Giannis

With Embiid, Shai, and Mitchell in the next tier of voting.

For all the stories about Jokic supposedly not training in the off season - the guy looks like he is in peak physical shape and his shot looks like his championship level touch.

Guy hasn't missed a step

LMAO Luka #2 is just straight up laughuable.

Mavs won't even be a top 4 seed in their own conference. And their success is more dependent on Kyrie and if he shows up. Also Luka already dealing with a calf strain before the season. He's clearly not in shape. Embiid in top 5 is also crazy considering what's going on in Philly and chances are he will demand a trade mid season.

Luka once again getting overhyped. He's closer to Trae Young than top 3 player in the NBA.

Also where the hell is DeAaron Fox on this list he should be top 5 the best player without another true sidekick. He's going to put up crazy numbers.

I would say that Jokic at +450, Giannis at +600, and Tatum at +750 are decent bets amongst the favorites.

After they stole it from Jokic cause of fatigue and sympathy, I gotta think it’ll be hard for voters to give it to someone else again.

Getting decent odds on the fat GOAT seems like an amazing bet to me. Luka was the favourite last year, which was especially ridic because he was coming off a down year efficiency wise. He actially made a remarkable improvement to efficiency and turnovers, though it was a down year. I thought Jokic was a great bet last year. Embiid might be good for a repeat.

There’s no chance in hell he wins it but it honestly wouldnt surprise me if Wembanyama gets one lone MVP vote from someone this year.

If the Spurs somehow win 40 games or hell just make the playin with him playing enough games then he SHOULD win the MVP

Luka will have the numbers but his problem will be Dallas finishing 5-10 games behind Denver this year.

Jokic will have the numbers, Jokic will have the wins, but as always we will try to find someone new to win it.
Depending on team success it will probably be Tatum, Booker or Doncic.

One thing is for sure, Embiid will have to have best season ever to get into contetion after that theft last year...

With his talent and this mentality, SGA could ascend into the top 3 behind Jokic and Giannis this year -

I'm tempted to pick Luka just because he's going to put up gaudy numbers again. The problem is that the West is loaded, and I'm not sure the Mavs are going to be good enough to get a top 6 seed. If they do, he'll have a great shot.

SGA seems like a pretty great bet if the Thunder can get over 50-wins.

I’m expecting Den/Phx and Boston/Milwaukee to be top 4 teams by a wide margin. MVP is likely coming from one of these teams.
