A statement win to start the season would be wonderful.

Indeed. Offensively we’re set. With this roster we have one of the league’s most unstoppable fast break offenses. We’re stacked with fast break athletes. Defense is our best offense in the early season months.

By the time of ASB, our offensive half court sets as a team should be getting close to playoffs ready, too. Until then, we can win most games by playing harder defense than them and running the break.

I’d like to see a starting offensive front court of AD, LBJ, CW to create deliberate coaching mismatches, but that requires Wood doing what he’s never done before; playing hard nosed, focused defense for a full game — every game. The length on defense will choke low post attempts. AD as a help defender is as good as it gets. Wood can facilitate that if he listens and learns.

It was exciting to see D Lo play dome resemblance of defense in the pre-season. It’s the first I’ve ever seen him try at all on that end so I’m actually hopeful. I’d guess that Rob told him what’s up, why they cut his pay in half. Want the other half of your paycheck back? Play both ends. Hoping that’s what happened anyway.

But until he also learns how to, he still can’t start if you ask me. His defense is still useless even if he’s now started trying.

Defense. Run the break.

Let’s see Vando at full health locking down Murray, like he couldn’t in the playoffs with his knee injury. Let’s see AD and Wood doubling Jokic!

It’ll be fun to beat them.

Go Lakers!

I think the Lakers will take this one. AD will have a monster game.

I would prefer if AD has a monster game to prove he's got it... load manage the rest of the week..Have a monster game next week, load manage, rinse repeat to the playoffs.

Lakers getting smacked like punks tonight. Not a good start to the season. TBF Lakers teams tend to start putridly, was hoping this revamped roster wouldnt fall prey to that, but alas...

Too many players being played. Get Hayes, Reddish out of there and play more Rui.

Pretty clear to me that AD has no chance guarding Joker. Sad thing is he’s the best we have against the Joker. We need better defensive schemes against the Joker… this is where Vogel excelled. This Lakers team, as constructed, has no chance against the Nuggets.

They look gassed. I wouldn’t put too much in this game. First of the season nobody has their stamina right yet.

On offense - seeing a lot less of LeBron massaging the ball, so that is good. There is a lot of ball movement, but not enough of it is actually doing anything - passing it around the perimeter doesnt give you an advantage. Need more pnr and drives to collapse the defense

On Defense, the effort is there, but there are too many lapses, and a great team like the nuggets are taking advantage.

Talked a lot before this game. Wanted revenge. This game was never close. Completely outclassed and Davis with a horrid second half.

I was hoping that the Nuggets will be too distracted with their rings, that Jokic would be half drunk and overweight.
That the Lakers would show their grit and show everyone that they are out for blood.
I was hoping D’Lo would wait til WCF to crumble, that Vincent will continue on shoot well in Denver.
Oh well

I wished it didn't feel like game 5 of the WCFs, but it did

Jokic was unstoppable, KCP showed us up, AD went missing the second half, we couldn't hit our threes, and overall we mostly got out executed.

The main shining light is that LeBron is still LeBron, and Taurean Prince is plug and play.
