Too dismissive. Jokic's playmaking always impacts Murray, though obviously Jamal was also extremely good beyond that.

We shall see what happens, I guess. 5, 10 years ago, 60% TS was incredible. Now, it's +2% rTS in the RS and last year it was +3.4% in the playoffs. That's good, but not ultra-dominant. LA needs to find a way to be more efficient, especially with it's primary offensive stars, if they really want to compete. And, obviously, defend more effectively.

In playoffs:

Murray is assisted on 28% of 2s and 58% of 3s
Jokic is assisted on 56% of 2s and 71% of 3s

Murray is by far the least assisted scorer on the Nuggets.

LeBron is assisted on 44% of 2s and 79% of 3s

This just shows how good Murray is in scoring in isolation. People sleep on Murray so hard because of Jokic but he's really an amazing iso scorer and Lakers had nothing to stop him.

This still has an inherent assumption that Jokic's playmaking must specifically end in an assist to Murray to have affected him, which is an errant assumption.

Yes, absolutely, Murray is ALSO a very good isolation scorer, but having Jokic and his threat on the floor warps defenses in ways that open the door for Jamal to get to those isos and shots.

Yeah of course Jokic has gravity as the best player in the league. That's an absolute given.

But we're getting off track here, you have to acknowledge that Murray needs to be slowed by a big guard defender for Lakers to have a good chance of beating Nuggets in a series. That's all I'm trying to say.

Murray is a problem for teams playing Denver; he is very good, yes.

Year 21 begins tonight! One of the better teams in the West heading in, coming off an offseason with continuity for the first time in a while in LA. Health permitting, think we’re in for a great season

The expectations on James in year 21 are absolutely ludicrous. So is the invective for an allegedly overrated player by the haters.
Yes, he's still very good, but he's not prime James anymore. But, the fact that there is still that much chatter, in either direction, about him is testament to his greatness. Can't wait for chapter 21.

Nuggets look to be on another level still
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

Was about to say the same. Just expecting Jokic to come back in and close it out.

So is the plan to limit Lebron to 30 mpg or something this season?

Looks more of the same from last year's WCF. Denver just has too much firepower.

DLo is still unwatchable and shouldn't be getting meaningful mins on any team with championship aspirations.

I have Minnesota needing a bench guard, anyone know if they/DLO are still on good terms? Something around a DLO for Naz swap.

Year 21 and still the best player on his team. AD just isn’t that dude. 0 points in the second half smh. Huge difference when it’s LeBron + role players versus AD + role players. Wouldn’t be surprised if he retires before LeBron lol.

Per 48
LeBron: +11.6 On, -48.0 Off, +59.6 Net
Davis: -23.9 On, +17.3 Off, -41.2 Net

The more things change, the more they stay, the same…SMH.

LeBron playing with some trash role players (Wood, Reddish, et. al.) were actually running the Nuggets off the court in little stints.

This is what I was talking about some days ago guys, we likely need another move to really compete

If we want a gamechanger to add to our firepower, need an upgrade from Dlo

Offensive options: Lavine or Harden

If we want to keep the core but add something then its a guy like Gary Trent Jr or Hield (especially if we aren;t giving Christie a chance)

Or we have to go the defensive route:
Caruso, Myles Turner, OG (yes I know he is likely not attainable, but his value is lower than Jrue's and that would make him attainable)

I missed most of the game, but seemed like AD was pretty bad in the 2nd half

Prince looked solid fromw hat I watched as well

Did Vincent just miss open looks?

The biggest problem is that AD can't do anything against Jokic on defense and on offense. At the end of the day, if your best player is helpless against the opponent it is what it is

I dont understand why he isn't better vs Jokic tbh, they should be hunting him more in the pick and roll

We may need another team to take them out in the west....but who?

The issue with this team is Lebron is older and AD isn't a #1 on offense

KD has the luxury of having Booker carry him on offense and playmake for himself and others (and Beal now).

Dlo isn't enough it feels like

Hunt with who? LA doesn't have elite P'n'R guards, and while Lebron vs Jokic at the top of the key is still a mismatch, it's not super devastating like 5 years ago, Denver can live with that
