I dont totally disagree, but we have seen KD, Dame and others sign contracts and demand trades almost immediately since the Embiid article. It is a different world out there today......But I love this world where we have Giannis under contract for years to come :D

Giannis is just like other superstars, ive always said this

The Embiid article was written months after his now current teammate (Harden) demanded a trade with 3-years still left on his max contract. Is it a different world since *checks notes* two months ago?

This is what the Lakers do though. They take care of their stars, with the knowledge that if it doesn’t pan out, big names will still want to come there no matter how abysmal the situation. Like the many beautiful inhabitants who make up LA, the Lakers always manage to land on their feet.

Among contemporary players I think Steph, Giannis, Dame, Embiid and some may disagree with me on this one but also Westbrook are guys that had no interest in leaving the teams that drafted them. In the case of Giannis and Steph, the teams did what it takes to make them stay, in the case of Dame and Westbrook their future and the team's future was no longer aligned and Embiid has done whatever it takes to make it work and if he eventually asks out its a failing of that team.

Do I think there is an Anti-Milwaukee Bias? Absolutely. Do I think there is some truth to those articles? Yes. A contract means less than it did 2 years ago. Harden and AD where chastised for being too demanding whereas KD and Dame was more "meh" and new way of doing business/player empowerment. It can be both. Like if it was anyone but Giannis, I would agree the contract means very little besides a little extra leverage in trade negotiations.

Ok, worst case scenario, that's still huge. A few days ago we thought there was a chance Giannis walks for nothing.

Now, worst case scenario we get a 29 (talking next year) year old Giannis who demands a trade and we get back the largest haul ever for one player. I mean if he forced a trade to OKC, they would pretty much have to give up every pick they have in their large haul of draft picks. Again, that's worst case scenario for the chicken littles/small market haters and I doubt it happens.

Between what you could get for selling off Dame, Giannis, AND Khris, you'd be looking at the greatest rebuilding package of picks/player assets in NBA history. But that's precisely why it isn't gonna happen. No chance Giannis asks out in the next 2-years. It's now a complete non-story.

Hmmm. I'm not sure this person has ever been to LA. A lot of people land on non-load-bearing bodyparts.

There’s some incredible articles about the Giannis extension currently on the RealGM wiretap.

In short, Horst is a genius and runs an incredible operation. And Giannis is an amazing person. There’s an article about Giannis asking multiple superstars for advice in 2020 and they all told him to leave Milwaukee. Giannis thought about it and said no way, I’m staying and we’re winning a championship. And we did. I feel a similar energy this season.

Giannis's ppg

2013/14 6.8
2014/15 12.7
2015/16 16.9
2016/17 22.9
2017/18 26.9
2018/19 27.7
2019/20 29.5
2020/21 28.1
2021/22 29.9
2022/23 31.1
2023/24 32.0

if you take 2019/20 out, Giannis has been increasing his scoring average every year.

Thought it would go down a bit with Dame. And it might if Khris is up to 30 MPG. We'll see.
