Jaylen led the team in assists. Convert him to PG and Jrue or white to SG.

Boston's two point shooting last night: 25 for 38.

Interior offense along with free throw defense won that game. Those areas overcame the Knicks' exceptional three point shooting, which usually wins in this era.

The Celtics' bench scoring and bench fga was the lowest in the league.

I think the team is much better off using Jaylen as an attacker/scorer, and I’d be pretty surprised if that’s not the case most of the season. But as far as people saying he played selfish last night? I didn’t see that at all.

11 potential assist, 5 actual assists to lead the team and takes 11 shots. Playing selfish? Some people in this forum never change (not talking about you).

KP and JT were awesome last night. White, Holiday and Brown all sacrificed a little last night. Will be some games were Tatum only gets 12 shots. Celtics keep this attitude of playing for each other and sacrificing, it's going to be a very successful season.

Huge shout out to Holiday for being the primary defender on Randle and Brown for being the primary defender on Brunson. Those Knicks were 11-43 last night. Quickley is a problem.

He never found a rhythm on offense, but he didn’t hurt like people are saying. He did make a lot of dumb mistakes on defense

Yup, still think the defense for a few stretches is being really underrated, and prob won them the game. They shot poorly but had a ton of tough, challenged shots.

Agree on Quickley, good under rated player that has a habit of going off against Boston.

And as Gant mentioned not sucking from 2 is also a very under rated and welcome change.

By the way, another shout out for last night to Payton Pritchard coming into the game late, cold off the bench and nailing those two free throws. Big shots.

Randle went 1-10 against Holiday and 0-5 against Tatum.

Ew.

Good win.

Tatum and KP were really good. We choke this game away if it wasn't for KP and his 4th quarter scoring.

Al had a good game off the bench. Jrue and White were solid, their defense was really good.

Overall defense was good. We should have won by at least 10 points.

The shots are going to be hard to come by for everyone this year.

If Hauser doesn't give us more, Svi or Stevens would be better in his spot.

Solid win. We won on the road against a top 12 team in the league with a ton of continuity while being outshot from 3 and having less possessions. That's some luck sure but also finding ways to win.

This is gonna be a good team for the first 10-20 games. Then it'll be a goddamn awesome one afterwards.

His defense is freaking good, man.

Ew.

Yeah. We did a good job of defending him all game - Brunson too. It was a big reason why we won, for sure.

You’re out your mind if you think JB is better than Trae, think you may be one of the only people that thinks that. JB could never lead a team to the ECF. You’re forgetting that JB is a chucker at times as well. Trae is a much more willing passer than Jaylen, he’s just forced into the first option role.

It's not about ability, it's about the player as a whole.

Sure Trae is a better offensive player than JB, but Trae is an absolute defensive liability.

But JB is an average to even net negative at times defender in the playoffs. Plus it’s easier to cover PG defensive flaws. Celtics’ problem has always been going ice cold during spurts. Defense wouldn’t be an issue with Jrue on the team.

Trae
Jrue
JT
Horford
Porzingis

Again, this lineup is the best in basketball, has the shooting, defense, passing, spacing to beat anyone

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

Boston had control of most of that game, until Quickley went off in the second half and sparked a Knicks 3 point festival. We need to get better at closing games and not losing a 9 point lead during my bathroom break.

But overall, solid defensive effort. Tatum looked locked in. Joe needs to be careful playing KP so many minutes, but last night was needed.

I’m not concerned with Jaylen. He’ll bounce back. Buttttt I do hope we limit the times where he’s running the offense and trying to create. It’s not his strength. He just needs to attack.

#7:

For as long as he is a Celtic, I WANT him to do well because I want a chip. Period.
His flaws are his flaws. They are not going away to any significant degree. His basketball instincts suck.
His salary is obscene.
Bubbles the time out genius needs to get the most out of his significant strengths - in particular, explosive drives to the hoop.
Do not ask him to create much.
Encourage quicker decision making.
Beat him over the head & bench him when he plays dumb D & leaves shooters open, or turns it over.
#7 needs to understand that JT & KP are the 1 & 2 of this team, & compliment them.
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.
