What was Jrue’s on/off against the Heat in the playoffs?

Lol

This has been brewing for some time. I could smell it in his comments last season and he even slighted us in our finals year by just not doing pods after our biggest moments.

Bottom line: He's scared. Celtics basketball is all that remains of his frontrunner fan pedigree. This HAS to be a chip soon or none of his teams matter. He loved that we were running back the same old core unit and then old Horsty flipped the table over.

He is REALLY banking on this White/Holiday defensive savior angle. He asks Doc: "Dont you just feel like with those two, a guy like Dame will come to town and have a hard time?"

:D :D :D

I don't get the "Jrue can stop Dame narrative". I understand it happened one time in a playoff series, but Dame's averages against Jrue are 25.5 pts., 6 ast., and 4 rebs, which are his normal career numbers.

And it only happened one time in a playoff series because they blitzed Dame at half court to get the ball out of his hands. They were willing to play three on four every possession for the entire series assuming AD could single handedly protect the rim. Good luck doing that when the pass goes to Giannis and your three remaining defenders have to form a wall.

Ah, so Bolden is the guy they throw at Giannis in 1v1 workouts to make him deal with a big body.

That actually kind of makes sense why they gave him a two way. He’s probably not bad 1v1 because he is long but pretty quick for his size. If Giannis thinks it helps, that’s worth the spot to avoid losing him.

Still unsure of any logical reason Wigginton has a two way for life.

Caruso makes 9.5 this year and 9.9 next year. He should be the #1 target for the Bucks.

for real though... who is the best 3 and D shooting guard that we could acquire for that Portland 2nd? I'm just not convinced that Beasley is going to work out.

Yeah, I’d move Pat or Bobby and the Portland second for Caruso.

Caruso could absolutely shut down Brown and as we saw in 2022 playoffs, if you can pressure him, you create turnovers and break their offense.

He’s a legit great fit next to Dame.

Would the Bulls take that plus Bobby or Pat for Caruso? Or could you pass Bobby or Pat to a team that wants them for an expiring and another pick to send to Chicago?

hard to say. but that's definitely a team that seems to be headed for the wood chipper and we will not be the only team interested in a guy like Caruso. however, i'm not sure i see a team being willing to trade a 1st for a guy like that and that Portland 2nd is as close as you can get to a 1st without it actually being one. Charlotte is quick to correct me on that, but still.

Then again, trading the 2nd now means we can't package it with 24 and 31 1sts this coming offseason for someone pretty damn good. It's all a big puzzle, really. I suppose you just wait and see what the team looks like, what the market looks like, and make the best decision when the time comes.

it would be nice if we could strike gold in the buyout market and add a useful piece without giving up any assets. I would like that very much.

Yeah they really are. The Windy podcast was especially disgusting. Bobby Marks must still be reading his comments. It is full on war with these guys

I understand the desire for Caruso, but you just promoted Robin Lopez to the only option as backup center, so you can let Marjon, AJJ, and AJG rot on the bench.

The Bulls were asking for 2 -1sts for Caruso last year. Even if they became more reasonable, we won't be the highest bidder.

30-year old Alex Caruso isn't a guy you give up draft picks for.

Unlike Caruso, Pat isn't afraid of his own shadow on offense. Gimme Pat in the playoffs every time.
