Nashty & Cactus Game 2: Suns vs Lakers

Post#1 » by lilfishi22 » Fri Oct 27, 2023 4:50 am

New Rules!

* 6pts to distribute amongst each Nashty/Cactus, so you can nominate up to 6 players for a Nashy/Cactus (ie 2-1-1-1-1)

* Maximum points for an individual player is 3

* Only Phoenix Suns players can be voted on. So no opposing team players, no coaches, no Suns Gorilla

* Nashty only for wins. Nashty and Cactus for L's

Nashty:
+3 KD: Dude drops 39 against a Laker team focused almost solely on stopping him as the only shot creator.
+2 Okogie: JO doing JO things
1+ Goodwin: Started off well but when the game became more focused on slowing down KD, he couldn't really do much with the ball

Cactus:
-3 Eric Gordon: Really disappointing game. Spamming a lot of drives then not getting back on defense when he was hacked to complain
-2 GA: Dude felt completely invisible. How we ended up with 6/6/4 with a neutral +/- is beyond me
-1 Nurk: some pretty poor and careless passing from him. But he's still learning the players around him as they are learning his tendencies so only a -1.

You can actually do this. As long as it adds up to 6pts and no more than 3pts per player nominated.

Kinda wish we could rank the coach each game too maybe in a separate category? like 6 points spread out to scheme (offense, defense), Rotations, challenges and timeouts? something like that....need1 more category if some1 can think of one so we have 6 to choose from...

Prob go...

Nashty:

+3 Defense: Was fun to see guys engaged on that side of the floor
+3 challenges: Borat, "Great success"

Cactus:

-3 Offense: Even with out booker and beal an offense should be run and not just pass to KD and iso 1v5
-2 rotations: I think he was caught with his pants down not having Booker and Beal... also goes back to offense he needs to be be ready for 1,2, or 3 of our big 3 being out... Even Nurk... Yes...its alot of new players still needs to get the house in order.
-1 timeouts; Had a run by the Lakers in the beginning he let ride....Didnt seem to impact the game in anyway... rotations, play-calling, or moral boost (coaching) from a timeout was not effective...

Gordon and Allen are -3. Expecting way more from these two and they stunk it up. Vogel too. Everybody else did their roles including KD.

All at the same level of useless players.

+3 KD
+2 Okogie
+1 Allen

KD balled out for 35 year old. He was gassed at the end. Okogie is just a hungry mo-fo. He deserves the starting spot no doubt. Contrary to what people think, Grayson played under control and should have probably initiated the offense more than Gordon. Four assists against zero turnovers and crashing the boards. Even though his shot was not going he did all the other things, like Okogie, that lead to wins.

-3 Gordon
-2 Eubanks
-1 Goodwin

Gordon deserves the big minus. He just didn't play much defense at all. I thought it would have been better to start Goodwin and said so in the begining of the game thread. Eubanks had a pretty sad run of play on both the offensive and defensive sides that let the lakers back in it at the beginning of the 4th. Honestly he could have gotten the -3 over Gordon. Goodwin did well in a lot of areas but just chucked up too many shots and missed some gimmes around the bucket.
