Yep, still the same old mediocre and unwatchable team as last year. The Blazers game was a mirage and all the talk of taking the regular season seriously lasted one game.

But don't worry, a 34-year-old James Harden who also doesn't play defense or do the little things to help the team win will fix everything.

They made the big shots at the end, we didn't, and that's ball game. Kawhi was being guarded by Clarkson on that last possession and couldn't take advantage. :(

We’ll see how they respond on Sunday. But this is proof you can’t start playing until the 4th quarter.

Shouldn't have even come down to big shots at the end. This Jazz team isn't good and we gave up 33 second-chance points and tons of turnovers and were in snooze mode until the 4th quarter. Our slow, plodding team of 35-year-olds couldn't keep up with 26-year-old Lauri and 31-year-old Clarkson, and Frank wants to make this roster even older and slower - make it make sense.

Kawhi should have gone with the mid range fade. He was guarded well but more time left on the clock. Batum should have thought about shooting it too but passed it back so quickly and Leonard bobbled the pass. Took a more rushed shot than you’d like. Westbrook could have passed to Batum as well.

Tough possession.

They also had a TO they could have used. Lue’s never been afraid to use it even if the players aren’t aware.

Clarkson had Kawhi pretty locked up, should've maybe tried getting PG a look.

You guys should trade for Harden. Westbrook is a decoy and more or less a hindrance on both ends. Jazz played about as well as they're capable of, imo, just to barely scratch out a win at home. The Kelly Olynyk aerial assault is not a common occurrence.

they aren't a good team typically, but you can't say that the Jazz didn't play well tonight- they shot lights out for most of the game and hit big time shots. You have to give them credit- Olynyk hit 2 huge 3s and then Clarkson hit the game winner. I would have preferred PG to take the last shot because he was hot and it looked like Kawhi was out of energy, but that's the way it goes.

RoCo had ONE rebound in 20 minutes as the STARTER.

Mook has been ass and frankly I hope he's gone but let's stop scapegoating him. Kawhi lost this game and frankly Zu was MIA too.

quite strange for Clarkson to be a lockdown defender, but I think Kawhi was out of gas. I agree- the last play should have been run for PG

Yes, but Kawhi got the ball with 20 seconds left. This is on him. Let's be honest.

If you're locked out by Jordan freakin Clarkson not only on the first attempt but also on the 2nd, then you're not that much of a superstar. Aight?

I'll have more comments on the game later, but I'm not sure where this idea that the Jazz are an awful team is coming from.

Jazz were 32-34 last season in the games Markennen played, and they had guys like Sexton and Clarkson miss a lot of games too. They tanked the end of the season, sitting Lauri for the last 9/12 in which they went 3-9. Their young guys (Kessler, THT should be better), they added Collins, who while things weren't working in Atlanta is still a solid player, and also means they have Olynk off the bench.

At home they were 20-13 when Markennen played last season. Some of you need to do more research before the proclamations that you make

Now, relax, I'm not saying the Clippers couldn't have pulled out the win, but when one set it up as this scenario where it was a terrible team they lost to, one is making up reality. Maybe the Jazz will decide to tank again later, but as of now, healthy and especially playing at home, based on last season, one is playing the equivalent of a 50+ win team when you meet them at home.

Can't judge him on one play- he seemed tired for whatever reason- early in the season? Altitude?

He certainly played like a top 5 player for the second half of last season

That was a tough game and Utah played excellent at home. No need for doom & gloom. We didn’t play all that great and still almost won. Would love to have that last sequence back or even the last few seconds & have Westbrook pass it to Batum for the 3. Oh well. I think there’s still a few games left in this season??

Some social media users are saying this is a good loss because they aren't neglecting it like they did last year. "It doesn't matter, we'll wait until when the playoffs arrive."

Maybe so, but the other part of this is to not less this loss linger. This is how losing streaks can start, chemistry can fracture, ejections become frequent. And eventually, Morey-a-callin' for the team to blow it up as condition to finally acquiring Harden.

I'll add this to the checklist:

No Losing Streaks: They can lose a maximum one loss. No two losses. No three losses or greater, because that'll trigger the "3 strikes yer out rule" which guarantees an automatic playoff elimination regardless of round. And for a franchise who is forced to win the championship in order to keep Leonard and George in a Killer Kombat season where they can lose up to nearly 90% of their roster to free agency, they can't afford this.

No rebounding whatsoever, to many lucky trick shot heaves made by the Jazz, and giving up two back to back threes to a guy like Kelly Olnynk late in the game was absolutely terrible. We win this game if TMann played. His rebounding was needed badly. Good to see Norm play within the offense. PG balled out and Kawhi has to at least get a shot off in late game situations. He's always getting locked up when it comes to final shot attempts to win a game
