14 / 15 with 4 offensive boards and a +6. With no PG or team member who is feeding him.
If he was on this suns team . He would be putting up a lot better numbers.
People saying he has a WOOF game when he has 14 pts on 77.7% shooting and 15 rebounds? It was a close game too...so not sure what junk rebounds means.
But I guess we've heard that Ayton only gets uncontested rebounds that bounce right to him and now they are all in garbage time. Everyone else in the NBA gets very hard contested rebounds. Ayton's rebounds are a lot worse I guess. So are his baskets. They shouldn't even count for 2.
did you watch the game? It really wasnt that close. To be fair he got a couple put backs that helped them get within a few buckets but the game was never really in jeopardy. I think Ayton supporters will really never be able to let go of the numbers. I get it the numbers are there but the eyetest is an F. Tonight it went from an F to a C because he did have a decent last half of the 4th.
No I did not, because I don't really care about watching them. They are not a team that interests me much, and I don't care about Ayton like you do.
I have seen a lot of eye test of Ayton. I know what he is. But I also know tonight that the box score does tell me they outscored the Magic by 6 when he was on the floor, he had 15 boards and he shot 7-9 from the field, or 77.7%.
White his starting teammates shot 4-14 (1-5 from 3), 9 for 23 (4-11 from 3) and 3 for 12 (1-5 from 3). They lost by 5.
Now I'm sure Ayton had his moments he didn't look super energetic, especially since you were likely particularly focused on him, and not anyone else (though I'm sure they all had tons of energy).
Anyway, deducing from the box score you can still tell that Ayton was far from the biggest problem on that team tonight. There other starters shot 25%, 28%, 0% and 39% from the floor and 6/21 from 3 (slightly over 20%), while Scoot, Sharpe and Grant had 11 turnovers between them.
Brogdon came off the bench to go 6-15 from the field, or 30%, and Camara 0-4.
Looks like a lot of people had WOOF games. Since you watched, you can say Ayton did, but still it appears like most everyone else on the team was worse. RWIII had 6 pts and 3 reb in 20 minutes. Ayton with 14 and 15 in 30.
I don't think putting in tips at the end to get you closer when you end up losing by 5 is worse than scoring a few points in the first quarter or something. If anything, the pressure is a lot higher then.
