“Turning on him” when calling out lazy, bad play after a terrible playoff performance. Lol I swear some of you are so scared to lose this guy it’s pathetic. He doesn’t read this board, I promise.

Pretty much the same with Harden and Ben

Which one is the captain of the looney boat who knows

He also nukes teams enough to be a 3 time MVP finalist and one time winner. So yes, he’s wrong for a 45 sec clip of Embiid being a sad boi.

Personally if Embiid played up to scratch he’d already be a 2 time ECF finalist at minimum. Face it dude is very moody and shown piss poor attitude consistently. Gotta call out bad behaviour doesn’t matter who it is.

Ok, but it’s a small stretch of one game in an entire season. So it’s being over dramatic to confirm your bias that he’s a lazy, bad attitude player. It’s really disingenuous to me.

What’s disingenuous is misinterpreting what I’m saying and putting your words over it. Where did I say he was lazy?

Is it wrong that Embiid has underperformed relative to MVP finishes?

Is it wrong saying he has bad attitude and moody? This game didn’t have to exist for everyone here to know that.

What bias is there?

I agree it’s a small stretch but behavioural issues isn’t something that just goes away all of a sudden.

Let’s say this is the first case of it okay different point of of view and understanding… this happens every single season with him.

its not turning on him ...its moreso these are the same folks who always come out the woodworks when things are going bad.

its just that Jo made it harder to defend this time lol. Until he beats the second round demons, it is what it is.

Is Danny Green, at 36, better or worse defensively than Danue House?

Almost same on defense but Green is a way better shooter

Biid is almost 30. He’s not gonna be Jokic. But he can be smarter by learning from his mistakes.

He should most of the time just play pick and pop, do 1v1 to attack mismatch only, set screens, roll to the basket and play defense.

What good is dropping 30-40 pts when you’re turning the ball over 7 times? He should be smarter than that.

If shots arent going in, you feel rusty, your teammates are scoring well, then you trust your teammates.

If shots are going in, you feel great, your teammates are struggling, then you be aggressive.

If its make or break type possessions and we need a shot creator, then do your thing.

Defensively, I’ve watched those type of possessions from
him when I was scouting our games against the Celts. He frequently leave Al and would ask his teammates to cover Al. By this time, his teammates and Biid should already know how to cover these type of situations.

We could be not a more talented team. But we can always be a smarter team.

I think Biid was trying to do a pass something like this

Exactly ! This thought came to me and it made me wonder, if this will always be a thing with Embiid. Bad body language, turnovers , terrible shot selection in the most crucial parts of games.

This behavior has never been corrected. Most young players when they made silly mistakes on the floor they would get pulled. I dont remember this happening with Joel.
He has been coddled ever since he stepped on the floor because he was so impactful and was "the process ". The excuses were well he missed his first two seasons and has little basketball experience or he is returning from injury or dealing with one. Brett was soft and just happy to be a head coach and Doc has been known to turn a blind eye to star players. Even if Nurse is different it might be too late as its year 9 and its engrained in him. I get that he was tired and out of shape but that's getting old as well. It may be time to start featuring him less in the crutch and just use him more as a decoy and a finisher.

Also why do we have so many old - locker guys if they aren't going to call the main guy out.

P.S lol I don't care that is just preseason this the same sh*t he does in the playoffs.

With roughly six minutes left in the game the Sixers were up 102-94 and 88% likely to win.

From then on they were outscored 24-15, and Damian Lillard -- the other team's closer -- scored 14 of those 24 points -- nearly 60% of them. Lillard himself very nearly outscored the Sixers during that period, and would have if it weren't for Melton's heave at the buzzer.

A closer on the opposing team versus the lack of one on the Sixers. That will haunt them regularly and repeatedly against any of the NBA's best teams, year after year, until they get one.

Joel needs to be a catch a shoot guy in the clutch... Just take that little mid range jumper. Way too turnover prone.

Maxey has the skillset to become a strong closer. He can handle, drive, hit free throws, and is just a true 3 level scorer. That needs to be nurtured

I think this could be part of a solution. Also the reason why the sixers could use a playmaking wing in between him and Maxey

Green is a smarter defender , but he no longer has the lateral quickness to stay in front of guys nor the athleticism to keep up with wings.

Green is the better spot up shooter. I think at this point you only play him to see if he can get going from 3 or break a zone.

The problem with Embiid is not any single isolated play, but rather that his skillset and his demeanor aren't consistent with that of a closer -- a player who regularly and effectively spearheads his team at critical moments. Contrast Damian Lillard's skillset and demeanor (highly driven and determined) with Embiid's, and you get a player who can function in that capacity and another who simply cannot.

Embiid just is what he is at this point for me. Amazing player that will guarantee you 50 wins & a playoff birth. Also a moody guy who’s consistently out of shape who has massive meltdowns that make him look like a JV player.

I totally understand why some people are in his corner & some are out on him.

The structure of the team is different , with a new coaching style , guys are still learning where to be on both ends of the floor.

So why make such a risky pass under pressure in the crunch of the game. It's idiotic at this point and should be called out during film as someone mentioned earlier.

Obviously it's idiotic, but it wasn't what the generic "CLOWN!" guy on twitter said it was. He didn't do it because he was moping. He hears people talking about Jokic's passing and he wants to be seen as a good passer too. But he's not. Pretty simple.
