Scoot had a disastrous debut too... 0 points on 0/5 shooting with 1 rebound and 0 assists at half, 2 points and -26 +/- heading into the 4th. Got pretty much all of his box score stats in garbage time in the 4th quarter

Yeah he was 1/7, then got 4 buckets in the final 3 mins vs the Clippers 3rd stringers down 20+.
NBA media was super quiet on this too.

We all know what the Miller narrative would have been in that case.

I would like to see Miller be a bit more aggressive, but overall he looked like he belonged, and he made some big plays down the stretch. His confidence seemed to grow as game went on (specifically pushing in transition), hopefully he carries that into next game.

I'm going to try my best not to get two up or down about any of the performances from the top five rookies in this class. They are all going to have good games and they're all going to have some terrible games.

Lamelo had zero points in his first game. And PJ was 7-for-7 from 3 in his first game.

The good news, Miller looks to be, at the very least, a high level role player for us this season, like a better peak McDaniels, to start.

I suspect the big jump will happen when he adds more muscle, tightens up his handles and gets better at beating his man off the dribble and getting to the rim, or at least into that mid-range sweet spot.

My only lasting takeaway is Miller wanted the big shot in a close game down the stretch. We need guys that show up in big moments and that really left an impression on me

Oubre bouk and nsj would have also wanted that shot. I mean, its better than hiding like mkg, but wanting to be the man, and being the man...
He made the shots, thats important to me. He is calm under pressure.

They would've been chucking away all game. I like that Miller picked his spots and didn't force things but also showed up big down the stretch when we needed him.

Another fine outing by the kid and be even showed some DAWG this game.

Can't wait to see how he matches up vs Mikal next game.

getting the feeling that Miller is going to be the best player on the team AND the heart and soul of the team before the end of, I dunno, his second year?

If we being honest he already looks like a top 3 player on the team right now. It's early but he looks good.

MCW was ROY and still ended up being a low end starter at best, you guys are basically begging to jinx this with your over the top takes after 2 games

Can't blame a fanbase for getting a little over the top with a brand new rookie. It is also a big deal that Cliff is trusting a rookie to play 30 minutes in a game.

The performance-to-praise ratio for Miller still isn't nearly as lopsided as it was for MKG back in the day

yea I hope he's good because he's ours now. I just don't trust management whatsoever and Miller was the riskier pick IMO and still is. There is no reason for Miles to be employed by this franchise anymore.
