It seems to me that small market teams are raising the price for teams that are openly linking themselves to players. The Jazz were asking from the Knicks way more than they got from Cleveland and similarly the blazers probably asked way more from the heat than they got from Milwaukee. The 76ers maybe doing the same thing with Harden and clippers.

Lesson for the knicks should be that they should not openly flaunt another teams star or super star player. I am thinking about Embid or OG.

I think the Cavs paid Utah was equivalent to what they were asking the Knicks. And the Bucks package was better than any package Miami could offer without giving up Butler or Bam.

Miami didn't have anywhere near the assets for Lillard without dealing Bam or Butler. Currently, I believe they have a 6MOTY, a DPOY-when-healthy candidate, and multiple picks. Not to mention getting off of a no-D center swapped out for one who has top-5 talent (with questionable motor).

It would be like if we offered RJ, Fournier, and 2 of our protected picks for Dame. It was a crap offer.

The Donovan situation is tricky because the rumor was they wanted basically 3 of our starters for Spida AND picks which also is a non-starter. What they got was Lauri (who surprised) one prospect (who isn't doing much) and a good bank of picks. I think we could have beaten out that package, but they were charging us a NY tax.

I hate to say it but if Nurse is as good a coach as I think he is, Philly could be a formidable team even without Harden.

Embiid, a rejuvenated Tobias Harris and an emerging Maxey is a pretty good trio.

Lets see how their first 15 to 20 games go bit they played the bucks toe to toe in that close loss

Team isn't that good. It needs every individual to always bring pretty much the A game, except every other year Randle has his head up his ass, and that's this year.

35 wins.

I would love IQ for Herb Jones.

I would also love to bring Caruso in when the Bulls do their fire sale. The dude is a winner.

I think they are mid. I think we will see good wins and bad losses all season. Just fight for the 3-6 seed and entertain me! That's all I ask.

the reported deal was rj/grimes and 3 picks. there was protection on the 3rd pick. but we wanted to give them iq instead of grimes and they wanted no protection then.

Per woj they also wanted 2 swaps, 2 2nds, milw first and maybe one more first for taking Fournier. That also lines up with what they got from Clev

When guard Immanuel Quickley was proposed as a replacement for Grimes in the trade, Utah wanted three unprotected first-round draft picks as part of the package -- but New York would only do a third first-round pick that included top-five protections, sources said. Those packages would've included Milwaukee's 2025 first-round pick, two second-round picks, two pick swaps and two expiring contracts from a third team, sources said. New York would've moved out Evan Fournier and a first-round pick to a third team to spare Utah taking on Fournier's remaining $37 million, sources said.
