His turn around jumper has been money in the few times he's used it so far this season. 3 or 4 years down the road he's gonna be a monster, I really think his ceiling is top 3 player in the NBA once it clicks for him. He just needs to figure out how to maintain his scoring effort throughout the whole game instead of treating it like an on/off switch, but that will come naturally with games played. The only thing stopping him from truly dominating the offense is practice reps for his jumpshot and ball handling which is pretty crazy to think about

He played great tonight.

How was he tonight? Bully ball or was he stretching it outside a bit more? 2/5 from 3 sounds good, open shots, pull ups?

He had some nice middies, looked good in transition, had some nice drives. Obviously shot well from 3. Pretty diverse, actually. Got rolling a bit late, but had little help. Showed a nice variety of ways to get his shot. Needs to tighten his handle, but this isn't a game where I want to get nit-picky, because honestly, he just played really well.

I liked that 40-footer he calmly took in the first half and drained. I'm really enjoying how confident he's been with his shooting. He took one yesterday too and missed, but it was fine (it was close). It's a good sign.

This would be perfect! Who would take Poeltl though?

Siakam for Cason Wallace, filler & a pick would be lovely if he gets going soon and boosts his trade value.

But I feel like we're stuck with Poeltl :(.

Dang, sad I missed it. That sounds great though, this is what I hoped he would eventually turn into a 25/8/6 player. I can honestly say I didn't expect it this year.

He played really well but I still need to see more aggressiveness earlier in the game. He put up a bunch of points when the game was essentially over which isn’t a bad thing but I need more from him when he’s running with the bench units.

Amazing start to the season overall though.

It's so amazing. Golden child is so amazing.

Everything he does is amazing. If only he was responsible for anything...

But seriously. It's kinda hilarious how insane ppl are going for a prospective player who is tracking as a near-level allstar. Maybe......

And we still have ppl comparing him to magic johnson smh

This a bizarre post. I sometimes find some people’s resistance to any criticism of Scottie annoying but he’s been very good and quite frankly he seems to have taken on a lot of responsibility. He’s a young 22, putting up 21,8,7 on good efficiency. He’s playing hard on both ends. He’s approaching near all-star now so it is fair to say I don’t think that is his medium outcome. Why come to this thread with this now?
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

what are your expectations?

He is improving and that's all that matters. He won't reach his ceiling for another 5 years.

I don't think he's going to be a 25/8/6 player this year... but he is showing signs that he's going to take an important step forward for us this year, and that would be awesome enough. If he starts regularly having games like this, we can be very happy with him.

Agreed.

My expectations is still him ending the year with a 18/7/5 stat line with good efficiency.

My expectations are that he's projecting as an above average role player. He'll put up numbers on a bad; directionless team...possibly an all star appearance or two. Not seeing much more than that. Also seeing his softness...."my face hurts' before the whistle has gone.

"Oh but look at Giannis stats in third year". That is truly the most hilarious comparison. Even more so than magic johnson.

Scottie lumbers like an old man. He's upright. He has great vision. Will always be a player without a true position. Great vision and passing. Average ball handle. Kinda soft. A little spoiled and whiny.

In 5 years he won't be a raptor. Book it.

Brother...you're entire existence is based on fred hate. It's in your user name.

If Fred pulled that mess against the Bulls in the last 30 seconds....lord knows what mess you'd be up to now.

Lmao what is this awful post? He's had 3 really good games to start the year and other than OG has been our best player imo.

Seems the game plan from opposing teams is to really pressure Scottie full court

Unless he’s rebounding and pushing in transition, best to let someone else take it up court then play more of a point forward role.

Let him pick apart teams in the post if there were more shooters around him
