That's actually works in favour of the MVP award. Dallas has by far the most clutch games the last couple of years mainly because their offense relies heavely on Luka and the Mavs streaky 3p shooting and/or their defense is mediocre at best. If Luka wins most of those games this season unlike the past ones he will have too many MVP moments for his narrative to not win it with a top 3 seed.

In the East Embiid won't win a b2b. Giannis still has MVP fatique and Lillard to cancel him out and Tatum has the most stacked roster in the league.
In the West Jokic still has MVP fatique and now a proven championship level roster to damage his overpowered advanced stats. Durant and Booker cancel eachother out and I simply don't think OKC can finish as a top 3-4 seed for Shai to win it with lesser MVP stats.

looks like everyone just underrate Steph again, i think he has a outside shot

Stephen curry only has a shot because the nba voters are biased towards him every year. If it was basketball reference choosing the mvp he wouldn’t be close to Luka

lol how is nba voters are biased towards him every day? most experts put warriors at 6-8 this year and if they actually finish top 2 in the west..look out

Nba voters break the rules and criteria constantly to give him accolades. Look at 2021, didn’t make the playoffs and still finished top 3 in mvp voting lol

Jokic playing way more aggressive this season than last season so far.

Small sample size (3 games) but he's shooting 20% more per 36 than last year (18 vs. 15 FGA/36 mins)
Jokic 5x MVP train

it's meaningless if you finish top 3 or top 5. But when it matters the vote blatantly gave the vote to others to make Steph look bad. For example, league trying to protect Lebron in 2015 NBA finals

I expect Jokic to win and win easily

Hes the best player
Hes the most consistent player, by far
Of the contenders, hes the least likely to miss games
Hes the least reliant on his teammates
He will easily accumulate the best stats across the board
The media narrative is in his favor coming off a title win, and ridiculous discourse from last year, effectively robbing him of an MVP. Many MVP voter have spoke on podcasts that they regret not voting for him

I'd bet virtually anything KD doesn't finish top 3.

The one thing for Jokic is he’s never won MVP as the best player on the best team. He has an MVP for the 3 and 6 seed. He can get atleast one more MVP for being the number 1 seed and overall best team in the NBA.

He's definitely a longshot.

This is going to be a race between the 2 best players. Jokic VS Doncic

Strong start from Embiid. His defence and play making have started off huge this year

Are they? All I keep hearing now is "Well, he probably should have been MVP. But he didn't want it. So we gave it to the guy that wanted it"

well yeah, that's an easy bet
KD is 35 and he's splitting the limelight with Booker and Beal

he hasn't played 65 games in the last 4-5 years since his achilles injury
there's very little chance he'll even qualify with rest and injuries, let alone be the best player in those 65+ games

KD is awesome but his MVP days are behind him, father time is undefeated

He could average 40,15,5 and the voters wouldn’t take the same risk of him failing in the playoffs. Despite this being a regular season award.

If the Sixers can somehow keep up with the Celtics and Bucks in the East (at least to some extent) after all the drama and if Harden doesn't play, Embiid might actually have a better case than last year, when he won the award.

If Embiid is going to average what he's averaging now statistically for the whole season while playing enough games, the MVP is deservedly his, unless somebody is doing even better.

There is zero excuse to give it to somebody else in that case. His impact on winning in the regular season is undeniable and his playoff woes should be counted only if it's very close between him and his closest MVP candidate rival imo.

Embiid shouldn't be penalized for the voters' mistake of putting him in the 1st place last year, instead of 2nd place. It was not a gigantic fail by the voters anyway, he was after all a top 2 regular season player last season.
