If they have a big lead, Hauser, Svi, Pritchard. If it’s small lead or close, Stevens, Brissett. I’m fine with Kornet at 8 minutes but I don’t want to see him in double big ever again.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I want Lamar Stevens to play but clearly Joe favors the better shooters. Which I get but the non-great shooters have stuff to offer as well.
Also want to see some Svi and Queta at times.

We just held last season's 5 seed to like 20% shooting. I don't think more defense at the expense of shooting is an urgent need.

Soft offensive minded players who seem to miss every wide open 3 or physical agitators who can potentially generate extra possessions for the starters? If Hauser and PP continue the trend of last 3 years, I’d rather go with the latter choice.

our starting 5 ... Horford.. PP. Hauser.. Stevens. I like 9 man rotations. If necessary to Bring in a Big then Queta.
Some on here have no idea of the value of spacing for a team.. PP + Hauser need to stay whether they get hot or not. Oh and they both play defense.

2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

I don't know if you realize this but Hauser got a steal and a strip for 2 extra possessions for the starters last game?

I don’t know if you realize how ridiculous that sounds. I do like Hauser but come on…..

Re: Who would you Prefer to come off the Bench, in Primary Rotation?
Someone on Twitter posted this and I like the concept. Basically, you take our top 6 guys and you create 2 separate 3 man groups (each group with 1 PG, 1 wing and 1 big) and you play those 3 guys together as much as possible, often rotating them back and forth.
So for example, perhaps one group is Jru/JB/Al and the other group is White/Tatum/KP.
This accomplishes 2 main things:
1) You always have 3 of your top 6 guys on the floor (unless it's garbage time). A lineup with only 1 (or even worse, 0) of our top 6 guys on the floor just doesn't have enough talent or firepower
2) You always have a well balanced lineup, with 1 good PG, 1 scoring wing and 1 good big on the floor at all times.
3) By keeping the players in each group consistent, that way each of those groups develops really good chemistry together, they build an identity and we have a group of 3 guys on the floor at all times who really click together
You start and end each half with a lineup where all 5 players on the floor are among your top 6 players. But during the other times, you're able to mix and match lineups - sometimes the 4th and 5th players on the floor are among your top 6 guys, other times you mix in some of the other guys like Pritchard, Hauser, Kornet, Brissett, etc. But you always have at least 3 of your top 6 guys on the floor at all times. 1 PG, 1 wing, 1 big and the 3 man groups stay consistent.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

In a 9 man rotation it's pretty difficult or rather actually impossible to not have at least 3 of your top 6 on the floor.

Well, a typical "bench unit" that plays later in the 1st/3rd quarters and beginning of the 2nd/4th quarters would have only 1 starter (and only 2 of your top 6 guys) on the floor, if you have a 9 man rotation.
Also, someone in this thread seemed to be implying they would play a 10 man rotation, instead of 9..

Al is basically a starter anyway so we have 6 starters.

Interesting.
I think starting 5 probably plays together first 6 minutes and last 6 minutes each half. That leaves 24 minutes with reserves playing. Al plays 24 minutes a game and the other starters each have another 12 minutes each. That means 4 reserves each contributing 12 minutes each or 3 reserves 16 minutes each or some mix like that. It’s basically what Joe is doing now.
It means you have Al, 2 pairs of starters and 2 pairs of reserves playing 24 min and 5 starters playing together 24 min.

Re: Who would you Prefer to come off the Bench, in Primary Rotation?
I think that the choice between Horford and White is a function of the opponent. Ideally I’d like to see limitations on the Top 6 during the regular season and flexible use of the bench. That translates to:
36 min Tatum
36 min Brown
28 - 32 min Porzingis
28 - 32 min Holiday
32 min White
24 min Horford
Total = 184 to 192 min leaving 48 to 56 min for bench.
Depending on matchups and performance each outing I’d like to see 7 more of the bench players used:
Pritchard (when not hitting could be pulled)
Hauser (when not hitting should be pulled)
Svi Mykhailiuk
Lamar Stevens
Oshae Brisset
Jordan Walsh
Dalano Banton
36 min Tatum
36 min Brown
28 - 32 min Porzingis
28 - 32 min Holiday
32 min White
24 min Horford
Total = 184 to 192 min leaving 48 to 56 min for bench.

Re: Who would you Prefer to come off the Bench, in Primary Rotation?
I think a nine guy rotation with Horford, Pritchard, Hauser, Brissett works well. I’d like Walsh to get some run as I think he has a future. Some PT in Maine is fine for him now though. I’d like to add another legit big that is better than Kornet.
I feel Ok with Stevens and Banton as if needed guys. I think they can play.
I am not sold on Svi. Willing to postpone my judgement though.
