Plus swaps, plus 1 or 2 other picks /2nd rounders. It's been reported too

Oh yes that too, but the naysayers were saying it was only RJ ..

Glad we didn't capitulate. Love the kid, but they were trying to take us to the woodshed.

Indeed they were...and now that he hasn't renewed with the Cavs the price comes way way down.

I’m afraid they’re going to do IQ in a package for Lavine. Would just be prioritizing the wrong things

So, IF this was the case, and it was IQ+Fournier, isn't that only 1/2 of what Lavine makes?

Who is the other player? RJ?

If so, and I've advocated for getting LaVine before, but I don't see LaVine at the cost of RJ + IQ as making the team better. It's a lateral move. Sure, LaVine is more talented on offense than RJ, but they'd lose IQ, whose bench scoring and backup PG play is important, but especially his defense.

Not the move I'd make. Leon Rose might though.

Well, luckily, IQ's cap hold is so small, it would take Fornier + RJ or Mitch to bridge the salary gap. Just don't see that happening.

I’m thinking it’s either Hart or DDV as the 3rd salary one the restriction lifts.

Def not a move I’d do.

Has Lavine ever had a playoff game?

If they wouldn't go all in for Mitchell, they're not going all in for a worse player in Lavine. I think we will end up with Mitchell by the start of next season

But, I can see we opting for Lavine for half of Donovan"s price.

Donovan (plus filler probably LeVert): IQ + RJ + Fournier + 2 picks unprotected + our protected pick 1-4 + 3 protected picks.

Lavine: IQ + Fournier + Donte + 1 unprotected pick + 2 protected picks + our protected pick 1-4.

If we can keep RJ and an additional unprotected pick, they would rather have Lavine than Donovan.

They aren't trading for LaVine three games into the season. Hopefully they never trade for him. Thibs would cook his knees like fried bologna!!

Could be a scenario where we send pieces to the Bulls and they send Lavine to the Cavs.
Just playing with the checker:
Knicks get Spida, Rubio (not playing), Caruso
Cavs get Lavine, Worst 2 of NY protected picks (DET, WAS?)
Bulls get RJ, IQ, Fournier, Best 2 of NY protected picks. (DAL, MIL?)

3 games in, a case can be made that RJ and IQ have been our best players so far (RJ has been good all three games)

I think in a months time, there could become a debate of which has more value Lavine or RJ + Evan with everyones given contract status

Pretty obvious where the hole in our roster is - we go from around a short 6'6" to 6'10" with only Randle in between. We may be the only team in the NBA without a player in the rotation filling that spot (except for Randle).

The reason a 3 way like this might work is the Cavs seem to want to stay relevant. LaVine is a headliner. Though with the way RJ is playing first few games and Team Canada his trade value may very well be going up.
