Houston is trying as hard as possible to make our 30 pt blowout very underwhelming.

You mean: playing against best player on planet Earth, by wide margin?![]()
Jokic is so far away from anybody at this point that it's not even conversation.
The camera-person didn't even know what Jokić did here:
I'm watching this game and Jokic seems like he doesn't even try

I just can't envision bottom of nba standings any other than:
Blazers , Spurs, Rockets
They simply don't have talent to compete right now or/and they are too green and unexperienced to win game(s).
Like Blazers last night, even when their offense is clicking ( first quater) they still can't defend.
Tobias Harris shot 6/7 on 2FGA, other night George 7/10.
They simply don't know how to defend.
Spurs have no PG on roster other than Jones.
Houston. ugly.

Something to watch about Scoot. He had a pretty low FTA rate for a supposed elite athlete in the G Leaque. So far this continues in the NBA. 1 FTA in 3 games. Way too early to tell, but if he, like Fultz, doesnt get to the line in combination with his suspect shooting, he will have a hard time becoming an effective high volume scorer.

Ayton as well has 1 FTA.

-Spurs:they don't have a proper PG and that is the first way to being bad.
and it is obvious they've done on purpose, clearly they just want to give Wemby an entire year to acclimatize to nba.
-Blazers:they are going(finally!!)for tanking + henderson is not a proper point guard still + is there any clue about billups being a good coach?
-Houston:worst situation you can have in nba imho, ownership pushing to win, they do not have their pick, two souls roster with total veteran + total youngsters.
Idk if Udoka is a coach with enough patience to avoid the implosion of that locker room,if he can maybe could being better the secondo part of the season, but these next two mounths are gonna be explosive fot them

Houston situation is really strange & bad for this year.
First they have no pick.
Second- they knew that and were probably okey with another development year BUT nba decided that they won't allow ultra cheap teams. So out of nowhere they were in position where they had like $50M of cap space to add.
And here comes Brooks & Vleet just to get them pass NBA requirment to play.
I fully expect Vleet to be gone in 12 months .

Really hope for him scouts were right about his "bag of tricks",because his phisical limitations seem really clear for now and to overcome that you really has to be talented.
Also: Amen shot is not broken as expected, the phisical tools are there and so his vision, ball handling not super pure but already better that first game against us(probably a lot of emotions there for first game).
if he stay professional, the path for him to be a good nba player is there,so as for his brother

Yes- just like Fultz…that should be a trademark part of his game. Speed & strength + ball handling should = FTAs

I thought Ayton would go for 20+ every night without better veteran scorers ahead of him…that trade is looking bad. I had/ have high hopes for Ayton/Scoot/Sharpe young core but not good so far. Even if they stink, I thought Ayton would bully empty scoring stats immediately after being “let out of his cage” in PHX

Scoot is an elite athlete. lets give him more than 2 games, 1 with foul trouble, before deciding his future.

Blazers in general look terrible but Ayton takes a cake for most miserable person out there.
In game one they were down by 30 in 3 quaters. They played somewhat close game against us, and now they lost by 28.
Grant as well looks awful, he will never be guy who creates his offense, and now he is asked to do execlly that.

Still, he doesn't appear to be a Ja-type player who keeps continuous pressure on the rim. If he's going to have to rely on outside shooting, it's going to take a few years to be effective. It's kind of the same way it took Cole 3 years to learn to be efficient.tiderulz wrote:GelbeWand09 wrote:Something to watch about Scoot. Black is around 3 inches taller, and it's easier for him to see over the defense, get shots off around the rim, and defend. I noticed that when watching tape of Black and Scoot , Scoot has to elevate to get the shots off, and Black didn't.
I would bet on Black over Scoot long-term.

Why even bring Black into conversation about rookie(s) who play, if Black is DNP-CD guy?
What are we basing out comparisons? Guy who plays against nba starters vs guy who simply doesn't play?
it's irrelevant.
Scoot has crazy athletic pop, but he has to handle the ball better.
Black first has to beat somebody to get into rotation for us to have anything to talk about.

Morant also spent 2 years in college (yes, Scoot did 2 years in G League) and came into the league a year older. Morant also put up 14 pts and 10 pts his first 2 games. Scoot imo puts in a little more effort on defense and is learning what is and isnt called in the NBA. And he absolutely will put pressure on the rim.
Having watched the kid grow up and play in HS (his son and mine in same class) I'm going to give the kid more than 3 games to say what he can and cant do. You bet on Black, ill take Scoot.
