Huh?

Clark has been bad

Yes, this season, he has been.

He also wasn't great last year. He had several duds of games. In 2021 he was legit good

Last year I thought it was hard to judge Clark because it's so easy for offenses to neutralize one very good but not great player in the front 7 if you don't have other guys making them pay. This year, he looks pretty mediocre to me.

This is Kenny Clark's 8th season and he signed his last extension before Covid postponed the league. That he's been incredibly mediocre the last, I don't know, 15-games doesn't really negate that he's more than lived up to his contract as *checks notes* the 10th highest paid nose tackle in the NFL.

He was already under contract though for 2020. So 2021 was his 1st new season. 2021 was good, but 2022 & 2023 haven't been. So far 2/3 of the extension hasn't been good

Nothing would surprise me now. Gute (and the coaches) may be feeling heat and get desperate to try to salvage this season and their jobs.

We should just use a 2nd or a 3rd next season to draft a young and cheap RB.

I just hope he doesn't get badly injured during the extension timespan.

Yeah that's not how this works. The Packers have generally been great at getting these extensions done early and saving cap dollars by doing so.

I don't really disagree with you on the broad point of how the Packers extend guys, but it's also fair to judge the contract based on how the guy performs for the years they sign him for

No, I mean that's not how extensions work. They converted base salary and tacked on guaranteed money. 2020 is an extension year.

And all this is irrespective on whether it's a good idea to trade him. I'd opt against it, but I see the logic. Despite his age (28) he's going on nearly a decade of wear and tear in this league.

Kenny Clark is good but I think it's fair to question how impactful he actually is. Feels like as his career has went on he's gotten better as a pass rusher and worse against the run.

I also wonder where Musgrave and Kraft fall on this spectrum for the season. Love has accuracy issues, but receiver drops and too frequent route running errors compound the problem

Trade Lefleur for a bologna sandwich. The team is soft and pathetic because they’ve taken on the identity of their leader. Then fire Gutenkist and force the half wit president into early retirement and then, and only then, this team might be going somewhere other than the basement.

I wish we could have gotten DeMeco Ryans last year.

Back up the Brinks truck for Harbaugh.

Man, I **** hate Harbaugh. Winning could cure that over time, though.
